Important

Caution
- Always inser t the beaters or the kneading hooks (HR1568/HR1566 only) into
the mixer before y ou connect it to the mains.
- Lower the beaters or kneading hooks (HR1568/HR1566 only) into the
ingredients before you switch on the appliance.
- Unplug the mixer before y ou remo ve the beaters or kneading hooks (HR1568/
HR1566 only) and before y ou clean it.
- This appliance is intended for household use only .
- Never use any accessories or par ts from other manufacturers or that Philips
does not specically recommend. If you use such accessories or par ts, y our
guarantee becomes invalid.
- Do not let the appliance r un f or more than 10 minutes without interr uption. If
you want to process large quantities of ingredients, let the appliance cool down
r st before y ou continue.
- Do not clean the plastic par ts of this appliance in the dishwasher . They are not
dishwasher proof.
- Do not use a beater and a kneading hook (HR1568/HR1566 only) or two
different types of beaters to mix or knead ingredients.
- HR1568 only: to avoid thermal shocks, do not put the hot glass bowl on a cold
surface or clean it in cold water immediately after y ou hav e remov ed it from the
ov en or microwa ve. Do not place the glass bo wl in the refriger ator when it is still
hot or place the glass bowl in a hot o ven straight from the refr igerator .
- HR1568 only: be careful when you handle the glass bowl. It may break if y ou
drop it.

Using the appliance
Mixing without the stand
1 Insert the beaters or kneading hooks (HR1568/HR1566 only) into the mixer
(‘click’). If necessar y , slightly turn the beaters or kneading hooks while you do
this (Fig. 2).
Inser t the beater or kneading hook with the blue collar into the larger opening and
the one with the large white octagonal collar (HR1568/HR1566 only) or the brown
collar (HR1564 only) into the smaller opening.
2 Put the plug in the wall sock et.
3 Put the ingredients in a bo wl.
- For the best results, r st put the liquid ingredients in the bo wl and then add the
dr y ingredients.
- For the right quantities and processing times, see section ‘Quantities and
processing times’ below .
4 Low er the beaters or kneading hooks (HR1568/HR1566 only) into the
ingredients and switch on the mix er . (Fig. 3)
If you want to stop mixing for a while, switch off the appliance and put it (with the
beater s or kneading hooks still attached) on its heel until y ou contin ue.
5 Whenyouha v enishedmixing, switchofftheapplianceandremov etheplug
from the wall sock et.
6 Press the eject button to r elease the beaters or kneading hooks (HR1568/
HR1566 only) and remo ve them fr om the mix er (Fig. 4).
Mixing on the stand
1 Place the mix er on the stand (Fig. 5).
Fir st t the front of the mixer into the snap hook at the front of the mix er holder and
then press down the rear end of the mix er (‘click’).
2 Press the holder r elease button and tilt the holder with the mix er
backwards (Fig. 6).
3 Insert the beaters or kneading hooks (HR1568/HR1566 only) into the mixer
(‘click’). If necessar y , slightly turn the beaters or kneading hooks while you do
this (Fig. 7).
Inser t the beater or kneading hook with the blue collar into the larger opening and

collar (HR1564 only) into the smaller opening.
4 Put the plug in the wall sock et.
5 Put the ingredients in the bo wl.

6 Place the bowl on the stand. (Fig. 8)
7 Press the holder r elease button and mov e the holder with the mixer on it
into horizontal position so that the beaters or kneading hooks (HR1568/
HR1566 only) are lo wer ed into the ingredients (Fig. 9).
8 Switch on the mix er .

10 Pr ess the holder r elease button and tilt the holder with the mixer on it
backwards (Fig. 10).
11 Pr ess the eject button to r elease the beaters or kneading hooks (HR1568/
HR1566 only) and remo ve them fr om the mix er (Fig. 11).
12 Pr ess the mix er release le ver at the r ear end of the mix er holder (1) and lift
the mixer off the holder (2) (Fig. 12).
Using the siev e (HR1568/HR1566 only)
Y ou can use the sieve to remo ve lumps and impurities from ingredients such as our ,
sugar or cacao. When the mixer is operating, the vibr ation disc shak es the sieve. The
ingredients in the sieve are thus added nely and unif ormly , which ensures a softer
and more homogeneous result.
1 Place the mix er on the stand and place the bowl with liquid ingredients on the
stand.
2 Insert the beater with the blue collar into the larger opening and the one
with the large white octagonal collar (i.e. the vibration disc) into the smaller
opening (Fig. 13).
Note: Y ou can only use the sieve together with the beaters.
3 Press the holder r elease button and mov e the holder with the mixer on it
into horizontal position so that the beaters are lo wer ed into the ingredients.
