Danger
• Do not immer se the main unit of the juicer in water ,
any other uid, nor rinse it under the tap. Use only a
moist cloth to clean.
W arning
• Check if the voltage indicated on the juicer
cor responds to the local pow er voltage before y ou
connect it.
• Do not connect the appliance to an exter nal timer to
prevent danger .
• Only connect the juicer to a grounded po wer outlet.
Alwa ys make sure that the plug is inser ted r mly into
the pow er outlet.
• Make sure that the damaged po wer cord is replaced
by Philips, a ser vice center author ized by Philips or
similar ly qualied per sons in order to a void a hazard.
• If you detect cracks in the sieve, the driving shaft, or
any accessories is damaged in any wa y , do not use the
appliance anymore and contact the nearest Philips
ser vice center . Do not replace par ts of the appliance
y our self.
• This appliance shall not be used by children.
• This appliance can be used by per sons with reduced
physical, sensor y or mental capabilities or lack of
exper ience and knowledge if they ha ve been giv en
super vision or instr uction concer ning use of the
appliance in a safe wa y and if they under stand the
hazards.
• For their safety , do not allo w children to play with the
appliance .
• Keep the appliance and its pow er cord out of the
reach of children. Do not hang the pow er cord ov er
the desk or table edge, where y ou place the appliance.
• T o prevent a shor t circuit or an electr ic shock, make
sure that y our hands are dr y before y ou inser t
the plug into the pow er outlet and switch on the
appliance .
• Never let the appliance r un unattended.
• Never reach into the f eeding tube and the main
unit with y our nger s or an object while the juicer
is r unning. Nev er use an y objects to replace the
pusher . Keep your ey es from the feeding tube to a v oid
accidents.
Caution
• This appliance is intended for household use onl y .
• Never use an y accessor ies or par ts from other
manufacturer s or that Philips does not specically
recommend. If you use such accessories or par ts, y our
guar antee becomes invalid.
• Do not use this appliance on an unstable or unev en
surface .
• Before y ou inser t the plug into the pow er outlet,
make sure that the appliance is assemb led cor rectly .
• Unplug the appliance immediately after use.
• Switch off and unplug the appliance from the pow er
outlet after use . W ait till the main unit and the
dr iving shaft stop tur ning, then you can take out an y
accessor ies from the main unit.
• Cut lar ge ingredients into pieces that t into the
feeding tube. Remo v e stones, cores, seeds, and thick
peels in fr uits or vegetables bef ore juicing.
• Do not ex er t too much pressure on the pusher , since
this would aff ect the quality of the end result and it
could even cause the driving shaft to come to a halt.
• Food color ing can discolor components. This is normal
and has no impact on use .
• Do not use the appliance continuousl y for more
than 30 minutes. This is to protect the lifetime of the
appliance .
• When the appliance is stopped and cannot
automatically rev er se , tur n the control knob to OFF .
Then, tur n the control knob to the REV position to
clear the ingredients from the appliance . T ur n the
control knob to ON again to use the appliance . If it is
still block ed, clean the dr iving shaft before y ou re-use
again. This is to protect the appliance .
• T o prevent damages due to heat deformation, nev er
use water with a temper ature of ov er 60°C or a
microwa v e ov en to clean all components.
• Do not use scour ing pads, abr asive cleaning agents or
aggressive liquids such as petrol, alcohol or acetone to
clean the appliance .

4 Befor e first use
T ake out all the accessories and clean the par ts of the juicer thoroughly before using it for
the r st time (see chapter “Cleaning”).
Make sure all par ts are completely dr y before you star t using the juicer .
5 Assembling the juicer (fig. 2)
Note
• Make sure the sealing ring is rmly inser ted into the juice collector .
• If the sealing ring on the juice collector is aging or damaged, replace it with the backup sealing ring.
1 There is a r ubber pad underneath the juice collector . Bef ore using the appliance, make
sure it is rmly plugged in to avoid leakage or prev ent the pulp outlet from getting
blocked.
2 Align the indications on the sieve ( ) and the one on the juice collector , and then put
the sieve into the juice collector .
3 Place the driving shaft into the sieve .
4 Place the lid onto the juice collector . T urn the lid clockwise until the indication ( ) on
the juice collector and on the lid are aligned.
5 Align the indications ( , ) on the juice collector and the main unit respectively . Then,
inser t the juice collector into the main unit.
6 Put the pulp container and juice jug under the spouts respectively .
6 Using the juicer (fig. 3)
Caution
• Never insert your ngers or an object into the f eeding tube.
• When the appliance is stopped and cannot automatically r everse, turn the contr ol knob to the
off position “O”. Then, turn the contr ol knob to the reverse position “ ” to clear the ingredients
from the appliance. T urn the control knob to “I” again to use the a ppliance . If it is still block ed,
clean the driving shaft and remov e food residues in it befor e you re-use again. This is to pr otect
the appliance.
Note
• The appliance will only function if all par ts have been properly assembled and the lid has been
proper ly locked in place with the juice collector .
• Cut the ingredients into pieces that t into the feeding tube.
• For HR1882, the coarse sieve is more suitable to juice soft fruits or vegetables such as tomatoes and
berr ies.
• During processing, the appliance may vibrate sligtly . This is normal.
• Do not exer t too much pressure on the pusher , as this could aff ect the quality of the end result and
it could even cause the sieve to come to a halt.
• T o prevent juice from dr ipping onto the table, inser t the drip-proof plug into the juice outlet before
moving the juice jug from under the juice outlet.
• Drink the juice immediately after you hav e extr acted it. If it is exposed to air for some time, the juice
loses its taste and nutritional value .
Tip
• Use fresh fr uit and vegetables, as they contain more juice . Fruits like apples, pear s, pineapples, grapes,
pomegranates, oranges and melons, and vegetables like carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, celer y stalks
are suitable for processing in the juicer .
• When juicing a large amount of hard fr uits or vegetables such as carrots, celer y stalks and spinach,
the r ubber pad on the juice collector might be pushed open, and the appliance might be b locked. T o
help av oid the situation, cut the fr uits or vegetables into small cubes or pieces.
• Remove thick peels, e.g. those of pineapples, oranges and pomegranates. Y ou do not have to remov e
thin peels or skins
• If you want to juice fruits with stones, such as peach, plum or cherr y , remo ve the stone before juicing.
• The juicer is not suitable for processing v er y hard and/or brous or starchy fruits or vegetables such
as sugar cane. Fr uits that contain starch, such as bananas, papay as, avocados, gs and mangoes are also
not suitable for processing in the juicer . Use a food processor or blender to process these fruits.
7 Cleaning (fig. 4)
Cautions
• Before cleaning, mak e sur e the appliance is switched off and the siev e has stopped rotating.
• Never use scouring pads, abrasive cleaning agents or aggressive liquids such as alcohol, petr ol or
acetone to clean the appliance.
• Never immerse the motor unit in water nor rinse it under the ta p.
• Do not clean the sieve with y our hands to av oid getting cut. Use the pr ovided brush for this
matter .
Note
• Apar t from the main unit, lid, pusher , and the br ush, all the other par ts are dishwasher proof.
• Wipe the appliance with a soft cloth and make sure the appliance is clean and dr y before storage .
Tip
• The appliance is easier to clean if you do so immediately after use.
• Use the pointed top of the cleaning br ush to poke out the pulp stuck in the detachab le par ts.
1 T ake out the pusher .
2 T ur n the lid anti-clockwise until aligns with the indication ( ) on the juice collector ,
and then remov e the lid.
3 Remov e the juice collector from the main unit.
4 T ake out the driving shaft, sieve and sealing ring.
5 Unplug the r ubber pad underneath the juice collector , and use the point top of the
cleaning br ush to poke out food residues inside of the pulp outlet.
6 Use the silicone end of the cleaning br ush to wipe off the pulp on the sieve, and then
br ush away the pulp stuck in the holes.
7 Clean the detachable par ts with the provided cleaning br ush in war m water with some
washing-up liquid and rinse them under the tap.
8 Clean the main unit with a damp cloth.
8 Recycling
Do not throw awa y the appliance with nor mal household waste at the end of its life,
but hand it in at an ofcial collection point for recycling. By doing this, y ou help to
preser ve the en vironment.
