This Philips Viva slow juicer helps you t o get fruits and vege tables
into your glass easily , so that you can enjoy tasty and healthy
juices ev ery day . The innov ative juic er with the lar ge f eeding tube
allows you to juic e y our ingr edients as a whole and gives gr eat
end r esults. The unique design makes cleaning aft erwar ds
possible in 90 sec onds.

tap and do not clean it in the dishwasher .

- Check if the v oltage indicated on the base

Caution
- Nev er use any acc essories or parts fr om
other manuf actur ers or that Philips does
not specically rec ommend. If you use such
acc essories or parts, your guarantee
becomes in valid.
- Alwa ys plac e the applianc e on a stable,
lev el and horiz ontal surface.
- Do not use the applianc e outdoors.
- A void c ontact with mo ving parts.
- Mak e sur e all parts ar e assembled properl y
bef or e y ou switch on the applianc e.
- Cut lar ge ingr edients int o pieces tha t t in to
the f eeding tube. Remo ve st ones, cor es,
seeds and thick peels fr om fruits or
vege tables befor e juicing.
- Do not ex ert too much pr essur e on the
pusher to a void damag e.
- Food c olouring can disc olour parts. This is
normal and has no impact on the
perf ormance o f the applianc e.
- T o op timise the lif etime of the appliance, do
not use it con tinuously for mor e than
20 minutes.
- This appliance c omes with an intellig ent
pr ot ection chip , it will automaticall y stop
working after about 20 minutes of
con tinuous running.
- This appliance c omes with a pr otected
design. When the juicing scr ew is block ed or
stuck, the appliance will come t o stop and
beep a f ew times.
- When the juicing scr ew is block ed by the
ingr edients, the applianc e automa tically
r e verses t o unblock, beeps a f ew times and
switches o . Press the on/ o butt on ( ) to
switch on ag ain. If the appliance is still
block ed, power o , unplug, disassemble the
squeezing syst em and clean it bef or e y ou
use the appliance ag ain. This is to pr otect
the appliance.
- T o pr event damag es due to heat
def ormation, ne ver use a micro wa ve or
sterilizer to clean any of the components.
Built- in saf ety lock
The appliance is equipped with a built - in safe ty lock. The safety
pin on the main unit ensur es that you can only swit ch on the
appliance when you ha ve placed the juicing unit on the main
unit corr ectly .
Electromagne tic elds (EMF)
This Philips appliance c omplies with all applicable standar ds and
r egulations r egar ding exposure to electr omagnetic elds.
Befor e first use
Thor oughly clean all de tachable parts bef or e y ou use the
appliance f or the rst time ( see chapter ‘Cleaning’).
Note:
- Make sur e all parts ar e completel y dry be for e you start using
the appliance.
Preparing f or use
Alwa ys unwind the mains cor d completely bef ore you switch on
the appliance.
1 Align the arro w icon ( ) on the juicing unit to the unlock
icon ( ) on the main unit, and then insert the juicing unit
into the main unit. (Fig. 2)
2 T urn the juicing unit anticlockwise t o fasten it on the main
unit. Y ou will hear a “ click” sound when the juicing unit is
properl y assembled, and the arro w icon ( ) on the juicing
unit will be aligned to the lock icon ( ) on the main
unit. (Fig. 3)
3 Point the juicing scr ew to the hole in the main unit, and
insert it all the w ay to the end. (Fig. 4)
Note:
- Slightly r otat e the juicing scr ew so that you can easily point
the juicing scr ew to the hole in the main unit.
4 Align the groo ve on the squeezing chamber to the knob on
the juicing unit and insert the squeezing chamber all the
wa y t o the end. (Fig. 5)
5 Align the arro w icon ( ) on the pulp outlet to the unlock
icon ( ) on the juicing unit (Fig. 6) and turn it anticlockwise
until the arr ow ic on ( ) points to the lock icon ( ). (Fig. 7)
6 Slide the juice jug into the main unit, and plac e the pulp
container under the pulp outlet. (Fig. 8)
Using the appliance
1 Wash the fruit and/ or veg etables. If necessary , cut them into
pieces that t into the f eeding tube.
Note:
- Remov e stones and thick peels of the fruits you would no t
eat, f or e xample fr om or anges, pomegrana tes etc.
2 Open the drip stop. (Fig. 9)
3 Put the plug in the wall outlet, and then pr ess the on/ o
button ( ) to switch on the applianc e. (Fig. 10)
4 Put the ingr edients in the f eeding tube (Fig. 11) and gentl y
press them do wn tow ards the juicing scr ew with the pusher .

Never insert your ngers or an object into the feeding tube or
juicing unit. (Fig. 13/14)
Note:
- Feed small ingr edients directly through the hole on the
feeding lid. F or bigger sized ingr edients, f eed them by
opening the feeding lid.
- Do not ex ert too much pr essure on the pusher to av oid
damage.
- During pr ocessing, the juicing unit may vibra te slightly . This is
normal.
- During pr ocessing, some of the ingredien ts may cause
squeaking sound. This is normal.
5 When the juice o w has st opped, switch o the applianc e
and w ait until the juicing scr ew has stopped r otating.

6 T o preven t juice fr om dripping onto the main unit, close the
drip stop. (Fig. 16)
Tip:
- Use fr esh fruit and vegetables, as the y contain mor e juice.
Celery stalks, apples, cucumbers, carrots, spinach, melons,
tomatoes, pomegr anates and or anges ar e suitable f or
pr ocessing in the juicer .
- The juic er is not suitable f or pr ocessing very har d and/or
br ous fruits or vegetables such as sugar cane. V ery soft and/
or star chy fruits, such as bananas, papa yas, a vocados, gs
and mangoes ar e also not suitable f or pr oc essing in the juicer .
- Y ou do not have t o r emov e thin peels or skins. Onl y r emove
peels which you would not eat, e.g. those of oranges,
pineapples, kiwis, melons and uncook ed beetr oots.
- If you want t o juic e fruits with st ones, such as peaches, plums
or cherries, r emove the stones bef or e juicing.
- When y ou pr epar e apple juice, r emember that the thickness
of the apple juic e depends on the kind of apple you use. The
juicier the apple, the thinner the juice. Choose a kind of apple
that pr oduces the type o f juic e y ou pr ef er .
- Apple juic e turns br own very quickly . T o slow down this
pr ocess, add a f ew dr ops of lemon juice.
- Citrus fruits can also be pr ocessed with the juic er , remo ve the
white pith of citrus fruits because it has a bitter taste.
- Drink the juice immediately after you hav e extracted it. If it is
exposed to air f or some time, the juic e loses its tast e and
nutritional v alue.
Cleaning
- The appliance is easier to clean if you do so immedia tely after
use.
Never use scouring pads, abrasive cleaning agents or aggr essiv e
liquids such as alcohol, petr ol or acetone t o clean the
appliance.
Note:
- All detachable parts ar e dishwasher -saf e and can be safely
cleaned under the tap .
1 Switch o the applianc e and remo ve the plug fr om the wall
outlet. (Fig. 17)
2 Remov e the pusher fr om the feeding tube. (Fig. 18)
3 Remov e the juic e jug and pulp con tainer . (Fig. 19)
4 Press and hold the r elease button and turn the juicing unit
clockwise until the arr ow ic on ( ) on the juicing unit is
aligned to the unlock ic on ( ) on the main unit (Fig. 20).
Pull the juicing unit out of the main unit. (Fig. 21)
5 T urn the pulp outlet clockwise until the arr ow ic on ( ) on
the pulp outlet points to the unlock icon ( ) on the juicing
unit (Fig. 22), and then remo ve the pulp outlet fr om the
juicing unit (Fig. 23).
6 Remov e the squeezing chamber . (Fig. 24)
7 Push the juicing scr ew fr om the other end of the juicing unit
to r emove the juicing scr ew . (Fig. 25)
8 Clean all detachable parts under the tap. (Fig. 26)
9 Wipe the outside of the main unit with a clean clo th. (Fig. 27)
Stora ge
1 Wind the mains cor d ar ound the cor d stor age wrap in the
base of the main unit. (Fig. 28)
2 Y ou can stor e the pulp container in the juice jug. (Fig. 29)

Problem Solution
The appliance
does not work.
Make sur e the local v oltage corr esponds
to the voltage indicated on the pr oduct.
Make sur e the power plug is plugged in
corr ectly .
The appliance is equipped with a built - in
safe ty lock in the base. Mak e sur e the
juicing unit is assembled pr operly onto
the main unit, and then pr ess the on/ o
button ( ).
The juicing unit
cannot be inserted
into the main unit.
Make sur e to align the arrow ( ) on the
juicing unit to the unlock ic on ( ) on the
main unit bef or e y ou insert the juicing
unit int o the main unit.
The main unit
gives o an
unpleasant smell
the rst f ew times
the appliance is
used.
This is not unusual. If the appliance
continues t o give o this smell after a f ew
times, check the quantities you ar e
pr ocessing and the pr ocessing time.
The juice cannot
go out thr ough the
spout.
Open the drip stop to let the juice out.
The juicing screw is
blocked b y the
ingr edients.
The appliance automa tically r ever ses to
unblock, beeps a fe w times and s witches
o . Pr ess the on/o button ( ) to
switch on again. If the applianc e is still
blocked, po wer o , unplug, disassemble
the squeezing system and clean it bef or e
you use the applianc e again.
The appliance
stops in the
middle of
pr ocessing.
Y ou have been using the applianc e
continuousl y f or mor e than 20 minutes.
Unplug the appliance and wait f or ar ound
30 minutes or until it c ools down bef or e
next use.
The juicing unit
