Read this user manual carefully before y ou use the appliance and sa ve it for future ref erence.
Danger
• Never immer se the lid or the base in water .
• T o prevent a shor t circuit or an electr ic shock, do
not use water to r inse the outside of the base or lid
(including the control panel, lid plug connector and
lid plug) and keep them a way from drip or splash.
• Make sure the surface of both lid plug connector
and lid plug is free from liquid or any conductiv e
medium before putting the lid onto the base.
W arning
• Alwa ys disconnect the appliance from the supply
if it is left unattended and before assemb ling,
disassembling or cleaning.
• This appliance shall not be used by children. Keep
the appliance and its cord out of reach of children.
• Appliances can be used by per sons with reduced
physical, sensor y or mental capabilities or lack of
exper ience and knowledge if they ha ve been given
super vision or instr uction concer ning use of the
appliance in a safe wa y and if they under stand the
hazards inv olv ed.
• Do not use the inner pot on open ame or on/in
other heating appliances.
• Do not take out the inner pot when it is still hot.
• Do not touch the inner pot or the base when it is hot
after use .
• Children shall not play with the appliance.
• Keep the appliance and the pow er cord a way from
hot surfaces.
• Check if the voltage indicated on the appliance
cor responds to the local mains v oltage before y ou
connect the appliance .
• Do not use the appliance if the plugs, the pow er
cord or the appliance itself are damaged.
• Care shall be taken when handling the sharp cutting
blades, dur ing emptying the inner pot and cleaning.
• If the pow er cord is damaged, you m ust ha ve it
replaced by Philips, a ser vice center author ized by
Philips or similar ly qualied per sons to a void a hazard.
• Make sure that y our hands are dr y when you
inser t the pow er cord into the appliance and in the
wall socket.
• Never use the appliance f or dr y heating.
Caution
• This appliance is intended for household use onl y . If
the appliance is used improper ly or for prof essional
or semi-professional purposes or if it is not used
according to the instr uctions in the user manual, the
guar antee becomes invalid and Philips refuses an y
liability for damage caused.
• Alwa ys place the appliance on a dr y , at and stab le
surface .
• Only connect the appliance to an ear thed wall socket.
• Do not come close to the steam vent. Do not touch
the steam vent to a void burns or scalding.
• Never use an y accessories or par ts from other
manufacturer s or that Philips does not specically
recommend. If you use such accessories or par ts,
y our guar antee becomes invalid.
• This appliance is not intended to be oper ated b y
means of an exter nal timer or a separate remote-
control system.
• Do not let the appliance r un unattended.
• Do not let the appliance oper ate when it is empty .
• Do not continuously use the programs.
• Never add contents (including water) abo ve MAX
(the maximum lev el indication) or belo w MIN (the
minimum lev el indication).
• Beware of hot steam coming out of the appliance
when you remo ve the lid after prepar ing hot soup .
• Be careful, the cutting edges of the blade are sharp.
• Do not mo ve the appliance when it is operating.
Electromagnetic elds (EMF)
This Philips appliance complies with all applicable standards and regulations regarding
exposure to electromagnetic elds.
4 Cleaning befor e first use (fig. 3)
Thoroughly clean all par ts before you use the appliance for the rst time .
1 Lift the lid (g. a ).
2 Fill the inner pot with hot water up to the MAX indication (g. b ).
3 Close the lid (g. c ).
4 Open the lid after 10 minutes (g. d ).
5 P our the water out of the inner pot (g. e ).
6 Clean the appliance. (see chapter “Cleaning”)
Note
• Make sure all par ts, especially the inner surface of the base, the inner pot and the overow
sensor of the lid are dr y and clean before use .
• The appliance may initially emit odor during use due to heating from the base. It’ s normal and
the odor will disappear after several uses.
5 Using the appliance
The soup maker has a blade unit embedded in the lid f or blending ingredients, and a 3D
heating element in the base to heat up the inner pot. Therefore , you can use the appliance to
make drinks, soups and meals.
Note
• This appliance is not suitable for making pastr y such as making batter , or baking.
• The appliance may initially emit odor during use due to heating from the base. It’ s normal and
the odor will disappear after several uses.
Panfr y pr ogram (g. 4)
Panfr y program ( ) is to brown some ingredients for adding more taste to the soup
or meal. The maximum time for panfr y is about 30 minutes.

170°C Meat, poultr y 5-15 minutes
How to use panfr y:
1 Inser t the inner pot to the base (g. a ).
Note
• The two handles should place into the correct place of the base .
2 Put the mains plug in the wall socket (g. b ).
» While it is connected, the control panel will light up for 3 seconds and beep once.
3 Press the on/off button ( ) to switch on the appliance (g. c ).
4 Press the panfr y button ( ) to select the temper ature (g. d ).
» The panfr y indicator lights up and the display will show the temperature , and the
temperature indicator ( ) will light up.
5 Press the star t/pause button ( ) to star t the panfr y progr am (g. e ) .
» The panfr y indicator on the control panel will stay lighting on, and the temper ature
of the inner pot will be real time display ed.
6 Add oil then ingredients when the soup pot reaches to the temperature you select and
the appliance beeps once (g. f ) .
» After the appliance beeps, the time for panfr ying will star t counting on.
Note
• Before adding the oil, make sure the inner pot is dr y .
• When the lid is closed, the browning function will be ended and the control panel will
be reset.
7 Keep stirr ing the ingredients occasionally during panfr y to av oid scorching (g. g ).
8 Add other ingredients and the stock after panfr y (g. h ) .
9 Close the lid (g. i ) .
Note
• Make sure that the lid is properly closed.
10 Choose soup program or stew progr am (g. j ) .
» when you select other program, the panfr y program will automatically stop.
11 Press the star t/pause button ( ) to star t the progr am (g. k ).
12 Remov e the mains plug from the wall socket after the program nishes (g. l ) .
» The appliance will beep for six times when the program nishes.
13 Open the lid (g. m ).
14 Spoon out the soup from the appliance (g. n ).
Caution
• During browning, the inner pot will get hot. do not touch the inner surface of the inner pot.
Preset pr ogram
Preset program ( ) contains 5 preset programs. Y ou can select the preset program by
pressing the preset program button.

Meal soup about 30 minutes
Cream soup about 40 minutes
Grains 30 minutes
Smoothie 4 minutes
Note
• The cooking time is not xed for pureed soup program, meal soup progr am, and cream soup
program. It will be affected b y the food quantity and the food type. For these three progr ams,
the display will show ( ) during cooking.
