Reviewing outgoing messages
To erase your recorded outgoing messages
Recording a memo
You can leave message for your household members with this feature. You have
3 minutes to record; press Play/Stop when you have finished. If you exceed the 3
minutes, the machine will stop recording.
Recording a telephone conversation (2-way recording)
While you are having a telephone conversation, you can also record it. The machine
will stop recording when has expired.
Recording incoming Messages: Make sure the unit is in
the Answer/Record mode.
The following conditions will terminate your incoming
message recording:
• The maximum time allowed, 3 minutes, is exceeded. A beep tone will
be heard.
• There is a silence of more than 7 seconds. A beep tone will be heard.
• You answer the call before the call is complete (refer to Screening an incoming
call)
• Memory is full.
Listening to recorded messages
There are 2 types of messages:
Stored messages:
These are messages that have been played back completely. The Status indicator
lights up but does not blink.
New messages:
New messages are messages that are unplayed or not played back completely.
The Status indicator will blink.
Reviewing new messages
Listening to old messages
Repeat the steps as in Listening to new messages.
Mutual listening of recorded messages
During phone conversation, both you and your caller can listen to the recorded
messages.
Private listening of recorded messages
You can also listen in private to the messages.
The following functions can be accessed during playback:
• Press to stop the message playback.
• Press and hold
for about 2 seconds to fast forward.
• Press and hold
for about 2 seconds to fast rewind.
• Press
to skip to the next message.
• Press
to repeat the same message.
• Press
at the start of a message to skip back to the previous message.
• Press
to remove message. (refer to Erasing messages for details)

When the blinks, press Info to check the status.

Operating the remote-access feature
You can give commands to your answering machine from another telephone by
entering the 4-digit remote code.
1. Dial the telephone number. (use a tone-generating telephone or a beeper)
2. The answering machine will answer after the set number of rings. If it is set in
the Answer-Off mode, it will answer after 9 rings.
3. Press
or to stop the outgoing message announcement.
4. After a short beep is heard, enter your remote code.
5. Press
to listen to the Help commands.
note : If remote code entry is successful, a long beep will be heard. You will
hear messages and can proceed to enter commands to your answering
machine.
: If 3 short beeps are heard, enter remote code again.
: If failed for 3 trials, the answering machine will hang up.
: If silence maintains for 7 seconds, the anwering machine will hang up.
: To Change your out going message, press 8 .
While listening to the message playback, you can do

Remote Playback Pause
When no commands are given for up to 3 minutes, the voice will announce, “ to
continue, please press

”. If there are still no commands entered, the answering
machine will hang up. But, if you press

, the playback will continue.
Screening an incoming call
This feature allows you to either choose t o answer or t o ignore the
calling party.
When the caller is recording his/her message, you can terminate the
answering machine by taking the call. But if there are many telephones
connected in parallel to the answering machine, it is possible that
recording will continue even when one of the connected telephones
is already engaged. In this case, you can either press
on the
answering machine, or press
on the engaged telephone.

For immediate access to various settings, press the Info
button located under the door above the LCD:
• Press once to set the time and day.
• 2 times to set the day-time stamp announcement.
• 3 times to set the answer delay or toll saver feature.
• 4 times to set the remote code.
• 5 times to listen to the telephone setting-guidance.
Setting the time and day
Set the hour first, followed by the minute, then the day.
Setting the time/day stamp announcement
If the time the day is not set, the time/day stamp announcement will not be
included in the messages even if it is turned on.
Setting the answer delay or feature
answer delay:
You may set the number of rings before the answering machine answers a call.
toll-save feature:
when calling your own telephone number, this feature allows you time to hang up
and save calling charges. When there are unplayed messages, your telephone will
answer at the second ring. When there are no unplayed messages, it will not
answer until the fifth ring.
Setting the remote code
When using the answering machine for the first time, the remote code is 0000.
For the sake of security, record and use your own remote code.
note : if the setting procedure is not complete, the old remote code will be
restored.
: for security purpose, this answering machine is programmed in such a
way that the remote code will not be accidentally announced. If it so
happens that you forgot your recorded remote code, record a new one.
Recording Outgoing Message
There are 2 types of outgoing messages.
Answer/Record:
the answering machine will both answer and record messages.
Answer Only:
the answering machine will only answer without recording any messages. (To
switch on or off the outgoing message mode, press .)
To record Answer/Record message
You have 60 seconds to record. If your outgoing message is less than 3 seconds,
it will not be recorded.
To record your Answer Only message
You have 3 minutes to record. If your outgoing message is less than 3 seconds, it
will not be recorded.
note : The default outgoing messages are always in the telephone, and can al-
ways be used if your recorded outgoing messages are removed, or if you
want to replace them. In case of memory full, the answering machine will
switch from Answer/Record Mode to Answer Only Mode Automatically.
