Cautions for the AC adapter
and the power cable usage
WARNING
! Be sure to use only the supplied AC adapter
with this product. Use of another AC adapter
is dangerous and could result in malfunction.
! Never touch the adapter when your hands or
feet are wet. Also, do not use the adapter in a
high moisture environment.
! Allow adequate ventilation around the adapter
when using it to operate the navigation sys-
tem or charge the battery. Do not cover the
AC adapter and the navigation system with
paper or other objects that could reduce cool-
ing.
! Connect the AC adapter to an outlet that sup-
plies the required voltage. The voltage require-
ments are found on the bottom of AC adapter .
! Do not use the AC adapter or power cable if
damaged.
! Unplug the AC adapter and power cable from
the outlet when not in use.
! Never attempt to disassemble the AC adapter
or power cable.
! When disconnecting the AC adapter or power
cable, pull the plug itself . Do not disconnect
by pulling on the cable.

tery pack completely clean and replace it with

! Do not handle the batter y with metallic tools.
Do not store the battery with metallic materi-

About warning function for
safety cameras
In some countries the use of systems that give
drivers advance warning of safety cameras
(which includes speed cameras and other type
of cameras meant for traffic control) is prohib-
ited. Therefore Pioneer strongly advices you to
check:
—your local legislation and to use warning
function for safety cameras only if this is al-
lowed.
—when travelling abroad please make check
in advance that the “ speed warning system” in
the countries you are driving in is allowed.
About speed limit indication
The speed limit is based on the map database.
The speed limit in the database may not
match the actual speed limit of the current
road. This is not a definite value. Be sure to
drive according to the actual speed limit.
Handbrake interlock
Certain functions (such as viewing of “ Video
image” and certain touch panel key opera-
tions) offered by this navigation system could
be dangerous and/or unlawful if used while
driving. T o prevent such functions from being
used while the vehicle is in motion, there is an
interlock system that senses when the hand-
brake is set and when the vehicle is moving. If
you attempt to use the functions described
above while driving, they will become disabled
until you stop the vehicle in a safe place, and
apply the handbrake. Please keep the brake
pedal pushed down before releasing the hand-
brake.
