Proceed as follows to heat water (for tea, in-
fusions, etc.):
First make sure that the function selector (8)
is set to the position corresponding to the
function you intend to use and wait for the
temperature indicator light to come on (6).
• Follow the instructions in the “PREPARA-
TION” section.
• Place an empty container under the
steam/water dispenser (15).
• Operate the dispenser switch (7), and when
you have enough hot water, put the switch
(7) back in its original position.
CAUTION: Use a tall, narrow container to
prevent the risk of scalding.
Warning: maximum water or steam di-
spensing time is one minute, followed by a
one-minute rest.

• Cappuccino is a blend of espresso coffee
with foamed milk.
• For best results and to prevent scalding
with steam or hot milk, use a tall, narrow
container.
Caution: the metal parts of the steam dis-
penser may be extremely hot during and af-
ter use.
• Follow the instructions in the “PREPARA-
TION” section.
• Make espresso as described in the “making
coffee” section, using a large cup.
• Dip the steam/water dispenser (15) about 3
cm below the level of the milk and operate
the dispenser switch (7). Always keep the
dispenser at least 3 cm below the top of the
milk while foaming the milk, (being careful
not to rest it on the bottom of the cup as this
would prevent steam from coming out) and
making sure that the little hole at the top of
the dispenser is not immersed in the liquid.
• When you have finished foaming the milk,
put the dispenser switch (7) back in the
original position and take the steam dis-
penser out of the milk.
Important! Do not take the dispenser out
of the milk until you have turned off the
steam by putting the dispenser switch (7)
back in the starting position!
IMPORTANT:
If you want to make a cup of espresso imme-
diately after using the steam function, you
must first let the appliance cool down to the
right temperature.
If you attempt to make a cup of espresso right
after using steam, the appliance will not allow
you to do so until it has reached the optimal
coffee-making temperature. You must there-
fore wait a few minutes for the temperature to
cool down or let the hot water out of the ma-
chine, proceeding as follows:
• Place a tall, narrow recipient under the
steam/water dispenser.
• Set the function selector (8) to water.
• Let the water out by turning the switch (7);
the temperature indicator light (6) will start
flashing.
• As soon as the temperature indicator light
stops flashing, you can make coffee if you
set the function selector (8) to the coffee
function.
Clean the steam/water dispenser (15) after
each use as described in the “mainte-
nance” section.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
• If you have used a function requiring a hot
operating temperature and want to use a
function requiring a cooler temperature, the
temperature indicator light (6) will flash until
temperature is appropriate for the selected
function. The indicator light will not stop
flashing until this point.
• It is important to turn off the dispenser
switch (7) before switching to another func-
tion.
Warning: maximum water or steam di-
spensing time is one minute, followed by a
one-minute rest.
