 Soft wood: high cutting speed.

When processing metals you should use suitable lubricants/coolants to protect the saw blade

– just a little oil for steel, and spirit or petroleum for aluminium, as required. For plastic material

water is normally sufficient as the coolant/lubricant.

8.2 Changing the saw blade (fig 2)

 Insert the small hex key through the transparent guard (7) at the side of the tool and

loosen the hex screw.

 Slide the blade into the locating groove with teeth pointing forward. Make sure that the

back edge of the blade fits into the guide wheel (8).

 Tighten the screw.

8.3 Angle cutting adjustment( fig3)

 Loosen the hex head screw located on the underside of the tool using the inner hexagon

spanner provided.

 Move the base (12) forward and tilt it until the desired angle is obtained The angle can be

between 0°and 45° (left and right).

 Tighten the hex screw.

 For accurate cut it is necessary to make a trial cut, measure the work and reset the angle

until the correct setting is achieved.

8.4 Edge guide( fig 4)

With the edge guide you can saw parallel to an edge.

 Insert the edge guide (14) into the base (12).

 Set the edge guide.

 Tighten the screw (13) of edge guide.

8.5 Using the laser (6)

Do not stare directly at the laser (6) beam. Never aim the beam at anyperson

or an object other than the workpiece.

Always ensure the laser beam is aimed at a sturdy work piece without

reflective surfaces i.e. Wood or rough coated surfaces are acceptable.

Bright shiny reflective sheet steel or the like is not suitbale for laser use as

the reflective surface could direct the beam back at the operator.

The laser beam projects a red cutting line on the work piece.

 Switch the laser (6) on by means of the on/off switch (5).

 Place the machine on the work piece with the saw marking above the start of the cutting

line.

 Check that the laser line aligns with the cutting line as marked on the work piece.

 Switch on the machine.

 After use, switch off the laser.

8.6 Use of pendulum (10)

This jig saw is equipped with four cutting actions, one straight and three orbital. Orbital action

has a more aggressive blade motion and is designed for cutting in soft materials like wood or

plastic. Orbital action provides faster cut, but with a rougher cut across the material. In orbital

action, the blade moves forward during the cutting stroke in addition to the up and down

motion.

Note: Metal or hardwoods should never be cut in orbital action.
