NOTE: If the protective guard can not be fixed firmly by the lock lever (1), use a hexagon
wrench to tighten the hexagon nut.
7.3 Replacing the grinding disc (Fig. 3)
Beware – a disc which has been used may be very hot!
▪ Pull out the power plug from the mains socket.
▪ The inner flange is located over the spindle and fits on the two spindle flats. Check
rotation, the rotation direction of the disc with the rotation arrow on the gear box. Mount
the disc onto the inner flange and then screw the outer flange onto the spindle.
▪ Fit the threaded outer flange making sure it is facing in the correct direction for the type of
disc fitted.
▪ For cutting disc, the flange is fitted with the raised portion facing away from the disc.
▪ For grinding disc, fit the threaded outer flange with the raised portion facing the disc.
▪ Press the spindle lock button (2) and rotate the spindle until it locks, then firmly tighten the
outer flange using the provided spanner to clamp the disc. The pins on the spanner locate
in the holes on the outer flange.
▪ Check the disc rotates freely and is securely clamped.
▪ Make no load test run for 20 seconds to check disc vibration and disc run out.
▪ To remove a disc, reverse these instructions.
7.4 Fitting the disc guard extension for cutting discs (Fig. 4)
▪ Switch the tool off and remove the plug from the mains socket
▪ Remove the disc if applicable (see replacing the grinding disc)
▪ Press out the locking teeth on the disc guard extension (10) and fit the teeth on the edge
of the disc guard for grinding disc (8).
▪ Turn the disc guard extension (10) until the locking teeth snap audibly and perceivably in
to place on the disc guard (8).
▪ Check the disc guard extension (10) for tight fit.
8 OPERATION
8.1 Switching on / off
Before working with the angle grinder, check that the voltage shown on the
machine’s model plate is the same as the mains voltage being used.
Before engage the ON/OFF switch trigger, check that the grinding disc is
properly fitted and run smoothly, the outer flange is well tightened.
8.1.1 For 115mm angle grinder (Fig. 5)
Switching on
▪ First press downward on the rear end of switch, then slide the switch forward to the ON
position. The switch will lock in the ON position
Switching off
▪ Press downward on the rear of slide switch, the switch will return of the OFF position.
8.1.2 For 230mm angle grinder (Fig. 6)
Switching on
▪ Insert the plug into a correctly installed mains socket.
