9.2.3.2 Clearing (Fig. 12)
The clearing technique removes all unwanted vegetation. Keep the trimmer head just above the
ground and tilt it. Let the end of the cord strike the ground around trees, posts, statues and the
like.
CAUTION! This technique increases the wear on the cord.
The cord wears quicker and must be fed forward more often when working against stones, brick,
concrete, metal fences, etc., than when coming into contact with trees and wooden fences.
When trimming and clearing you should use less than full throttle so that the cord lasts longer
and to reduce the wear on the trimmer head.
9.2.3.3 Cutting (Fig. 13)
The trimmer is ideal for cutting grass that is difficult to reach using a normal lawn mower. Keep
the cord parallel to the ground when cutting. Avoid pressing the trimmer head against the ground
as this can ruin the lawn and damage the tool.
Do not allow the trimmer head to constantly come into contact with the ground during normal
cutting. Constant contact of this type can cause damage and wear to the trimmer head.
9.2.3.4 Sweeping (Fig. 14)
The fan effect of the rotating cord can be used for quick and easy clearing up. Hold the cord
parallel to and above the area to be swept and continuously move the tool from left to right.
When cutting and sweeping you should use full throttle to obtain the best results.
9.2.4 Working with the hedge trimmer (Fig. 15)
▪ Assume a secure position, using two hands to hold the trimmer and switch on.
▪ Trim both sides of the hedge, starting at the bottom. This prevents cuttings falling into the
area yet to be cut.
▪ Pass the blade lightly through the surface of the hedge. Do not attempt to cut too deep.
▪ Trim the top of the hedge.
▪ For older hedges that require cutting back substantially, use pruning shears to cut the
thicker branches and then finish the job with the hedge trimmer.
▪ Never use the hedge trimmer without check the tightness of the bracket.
9.2.5 Working with chain saw

Warning! Always pay attention to the falling clippings.
Warning! Be aware of the danger of branches swinging back.
Note: Place the stop (33) on the branch. This will help you work more safely and quietly.
