To operate the timer press the TIMER button. The two-digit display will
then show the time (in hours) for which the appliance will run before
switching off. To increase the time, press the TIMER button repeatedly
until the display shows the length of time required. To cancel the timer
keep pressing the TIMER button until the display shows zero. If the timer
is off, the appliance will run continuously,
Always switch the appliance off by pressing the POWER button. The
display will turn off, and the fan will run at high speed for two minutes,
then switch off. (This is to cool the heater and remove any water from
inside the appliance). When the fan has stopped running the appliance
may be unplugged from the mains. DO NOT unplug from the mains
before the fan stops, or switch off at the mains whilst the appliance is
operating. This may reduce the life of the heating element which is
essential for the dehumidification process.
Because the appliance contains a high temperature heater, it is
inadvisable to leave it running unattended. When the appliance has been
running continuously for 24 hours, it will cease dehumidification process,
and run the fan to cool down, then switch off.
Perform a safety check, and clean the filter if necessary before pressing
the POWER switch to restart the appliance. When it has started, check
that it is running normally.
MAINTENANCE
Disconnect the appliance from the mains supply before carrying out any
maintenance.
Cleaning:
Clean the outer casing with a damp cloth with a little mild detergent such
as washing-up liquid. Do not use abrasives, or solvents other than water.
Every few weeks, clean the water bucket with a little mild detergent to
prevent growth of mould, mildew and bacteria. Do not clean in a
dishwasher.
Removing the collected water:
The appliance removes water vapour from the air to lower the humidity.
The water that is removed is collected in a bucket inside the appliance.
When the bucket is full, the appliance will stop, and the "water full" light
will illuminate.
