IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS

The following precautionary measures should be taken before using the iron.

• FIRST OF ALL CHECK WHETHER THE VOLTAGE SELECTION SWITCH IS SET

CORRECTLY. You can choose between the ranges 110-120 V or 220-240 V. Switch to the desired

setting using the point of a pen or similar object. Please note: If the iron is set incorrectly, it may

break down or fail to reach the required temperature.

• The handle can be lifted upwards or folded in as desired by pressing the release button.

• Leave the iron to heat up for a minimum of 3 minutes to allow the temperature to stabilize, as

during the first minutes the temperature can shoot up to a higher temperature than intended.

Additional important instructions:

1. Read the instructions for use fully.

2. Only use the iron for ironing purposes.

3. Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.

4. Only unplug the appliance when the thermostat is in the “MIN” position. Never pull on the

cord but take hold of the plug itself when pulling it out of the socket.

5. Make sure the cord does not come into contact with the hot iron. Let the iron cool down before

putting it away.

6. Make sure the appliance is unplugged when filling it with water or when it is not being used.

7. Do not use the iron if it has fallen, if it is damaged or if the cord is damaged.

8. Take care when ironing in the vicinity of children. Do not leave the iron unattended.

9. Prevent burns by avoiding contact with the iron, steam or hot water.

10. Do not use the iron out of doors.

11. Do not use the iron in the vicinity of explosive or inflammable substances.

12. Take the appliance to be repaired in the case of a defect. Do not attempt to replace a damaged

cord yourself but call in a recognized repairman, as special tools are needed for this.

FILLING WITH WATER - FIRST UNPLUG THE APPLIANCE.

Fill the iron with water by opening the cap on the top. Close the cap after filling. Use soft water. If

the quality of the water in a foreign country is questionable, use bottled water (still water!). For

steam ironing, set the thermostat to “max”. Empty the iron again after steam ironing to prevent

leakage (unplug the appliance before emptying).

IRONING TIPS

Iron the fabric requiring the lowest temperature setting first. Inspect the label to find the

composition of the material and set the thermostat to suit the most sensitive material.

Synthetic materials can melt if the ironing temperature is too high. For materials that tends

to go shiny, place a cloth between the iron and the material.
