exc ept the one with the unit’ s serial number .
The absenc e of the serial number will deprive you o f your warranty benets.
Wipe all interior and exterior surfac es of the unit with a soft, damp cloth.
Wash the bowl in warm soapy water . Rinse and dry thoroughly . Odor on rst
use of the appliance is normal. In such case, clean the device (p . 8).
CAUTION! Do not use the applianc e in case of any malfunctions.
After transporting or storing at low temperatures allow the applianc e to
stay at room temperature for at least 2 hours before using
II . OPERA TION
Before Use
Place the devic e on a at, stable, and hard surfac e away from any objects or
cabinets that could be damaged by steam, humidity, or high temperatures.
Before operating, make sure that the outer and inner parts of the multi-
cooker have no dents, cracks or any other visible damages. There should not
be any obstructions betwe en the heating element and the bowl.
Closing the Lid
Remo vable lid hermetically seals the de vice which is extremely important
for proper operation.
1 . Holding lid by the handle, place it on the devic e ensuring that the
steam release valve is on the opposite side from the display .
2 .
Without pushing the lid, gently rotate it counterclockwise, holding by
the handle, until it slides into corresponding slots on the housing (b y
20-30 degrees). The lid must be positioned evenly .
3 . Secure the lid by turning it rmly count erclockwise.
Caution! Do not try to force the lid open. The lid locks automatically when
pressure builds up inside the chamber . If the unit is difcult to open, adjust
the steam release valv e to reduce the pressure.
It is recommended to fry foods with an open lid. If the recipe calls for the
closed lid, simply c over the unit with the lid, without locking it.
Steam V alve
Steam release valve is located on the lid. Select one of the 2 positions de-
pending on desired cooking method. If the valve is in:
•
"CL OSE" position – the unit cooks under high pressure (pressure
cooker mode);
•
"OPEN" position – the unit cooks under normal pressure (multi-
cooker mode).
When cooking dishes that do not require a lot of liquid (ric e, stews, etc.),
steam release valve can be opened right af ter cooking cycle is c omplete.
When pressure cooking liquids (soups, purees, et c.) let the device c ool down
for 5-10 minutes before opening the valve, to avoid c ontents venting through
steam outlet.
CAUTION! Opening the valve during or after use may c ause a powerful
vertical burst of steam. Please, be c areful!
Pressure C ooker Mode
Closed position of the steam release valve causes the de vice to f orm a
hermetic airtight environment, where high pressure is being build up and
maintained. The de vice automatically locks the lid when pressure rises.
Electric P ressure Cook er REDMOND RMC -PM4506E is equipped with multi-
level safety protection syst em. If the temperature or pressure inside the
chamber exc eed safety limits, the system automatically interrupts cooking
process. When characteristics get back to normal the c ooking process is
being resumed. In case the pressure or temperature do not normalize
within certain time period a special safety feature disconnects pow er and
stops the operation.
Caution! Use at least 2 measuring cups of water or other liquid when
pressure cooking.
Do not fry with oil under pressure. Instead, sauté chopped v egetables in a
small amount of oil with the lid of the device "OPEN" .
Do not ll the unit with foods and liquids o ver 2/3 full. When cooking f oods
that can foam or expand during c ooking (pasta, rice, beans, spinach, etc.)
