whicheverposionisthe loudestorfullest.While playing musicwithtrue lowbass,adjust thecrossover
toapoint where the RELand thespeakeraresuretosharefrequencies(about halfway up orslightly
higherforsmallerspeakers).Atthispoint turn theHI/LOWlevelcontrolupso thatboththe RELand
speakerareroughlyequal involumeand thenswitch,usingthe phaseswitch,from“0”to“180” phase

isworkingin harmonywith yourmainspeakers,reinforcingbass,and notcancellingit.
4 Placement: Thenextstepisto determinepreciselyhow far outfromthecornerthe subshould beplaced
toachievethemostefficientoutput, aswellas thelowestfrequencyextension.With theRELfully into
thecorner,and poinngstraightout alongthediagonal comingoutof thecorner,connuingtoplaythe
music,slowlypull theREL fromthe corneronthe diagonal,equidistantfromboth sideand rear wall. Ata
certainpoint(somemesa maerof onlya fewinches, inrarecasesa footor more)theREL willaudibly
golower,playlouderand, ifit trulylocks-ontothe roomand isfully pressurizing it,theair aroundthe
RELwill seemtobe energized.Stoprightthere!Thisis thecorrectposionfromthe cornerforthe REL.
5 Orientaon: Once theposionfromthe cornerhasbeen established,the orientaonof thewoofermust
bedeterminedbyrotangthe RELfroman imaginedcenterpointattherearof theREL. Asthe RELis
movedfromone sidetothe other,listenforthegreatestlevelof outputand basslinearity.The REL
shouldbe leinthe posionwhereitis playingthe loudestandlowest.
6 Crossover and Level Sengs: Todeterminethe crossoverpoint,takethe volumeofthe REL(using the
HI/LOWLevelcontrol)all thewaydown, andput thecrossoverto 25Hz.Atthispoint, bringtheREL’s
volumebackup slowlytothe pointwhereyou haveachievedasubtle balance,i.e. thepointatwhich
youcanhearthe RELevenwith themainspeakersplaying.Now, bringthecrossoverpointupunl it
isobviouslytoo high;atthis pointbring itdown tothe appropriatelowerseng.Forall intentsand
