Für die Versorgung der Kampftruppe auf dem Gefechtsfeld
mit Nachschubgütern, wie z.B. Munition und Schmierstoffe,
werden in schwierigem Gelände hochgeländegängige Last -
kraft wagen eingesetzt. Im Jahr 1964 entstand unter Führung
der Maschinenfabrik Augsburg-Nürnberg (MAN), mit Beteili -
gung der Firmen Klöckner-Humboldt-Deutz (KHD), Büssing,
Krupp und Henschel, das Gemeinschaftsbüro (GB) der deut-
schen Nutzfahrzeugindustrie, um die als „Folgegene ra tion“
bekannte Fahrzeugfamilie geländegängiger Fahrzeuge zu ent-
wickeln. Am 29. November 1976 erfolgte die Übergabe des
ersten MAN „LKW 10 t mil gl“ Kategorie I der Folgegene ration
an die Bundeswehr. Der LKW 10 t mil gl (militarisiert gelän-
degängig) gilt als einer der besten Lastkraftwagen seiner
Klasse weltweit. Dank des Allradantriebes (8x8) und eines ver-
windungssteifen Kastenprofilrahmen verfügt das Fahrzeug
über eine ausgezeichnete Geländegängigkeit. Der von einem
8-Zylinder-Viertakt-Dieselmotor BF 8 L413 F (mit Direkteinsprit -
zung, Abgasturboaufladung und Ladeluftkühlung) mit 253 kW
(320 PS) Leistung angetriebene LKW 10 t mil gl erreicht eine
Höchstgeschwindigkeit von bis zu 90 km/h. Der größte Teil der
LKW 10 mil gl ist mit einem Ladekran ausgerüstet, der 1 t
heben kann und so den Be- und Entladevorgang erleichtert.
Insgesamt kann das mit Ladekran ausgerüstete Fahrzeug
10.000 kg transportieren, bei jenem ohne Kran beträgt die
Nutzlast 11.600 kg. Das maximale zulässige Gesamtgewicht
beträgt 25.400 kg.

try under the leadership of the Maschinenfabrik Augsburg-
Nürnberg (MAN), in cooperation with the firms Klöckner-
Humboldt-Deutz (KHD), Büssing, Krupp and Henschel, to
develop the next generation of high-mobility-vehicles. On
29th November 1976, the first MAN 10-tonne truck mil gl
Category 1 of the new generation was handed over to the
Federal German Army. The MAN 10 t mil gl is considered to be
one of the best trucks in its class in the world. This vehicle owes
its outstanding cross-country mobility to its all-wheel drive
(8x8) and torsion resistant box-shaped frame. The MAN 10 t
mil gl 10 tonne truck, which is driven by a 253 kW (320 hp) 8
cylinder 4 stroke Diesel BF8 L413F engine (turbocharged with
intercooler and direct injection) reaches a maximum speed of
90 km/h. The majority of the MAN mil gl 10 tonne trucks are
equipped with a crane with a 1 tonne lifting capacity, which
facilities loading and unloading. The vehicle can transport a
total of 10,000 kg without and 11,600 kg with loading crane.
The max. permissible weight is 25,400 kg.
