1. Read Instructions – A ll the safety and operating instruc tions should be read before the product is operated.
2. Re tain Instructions – The safety and operatin g instruct ions should be re tained for future ref erence.
3. Heed Warnings – A ll warnings on the product and in the operati ng instructions should be adh ered to.
4. Follow Instructions – All operating and user instruct ions should be followed.
5. Cleaning – Unplug the product from the wall o utlet be fore cleanin g. Do not us e li quid c leaners or aerosol cle aners.
Use a dam p cloth for cleaning.
6. At tachments – Do not use attachm ents not recomm ende d by the product m anufacturer as they ma y cause h azards.
7. Wat er and Moisture – Do not use the pr oduct n ear water – for example, ne ar a b ath tub, wash bowl, ki tchen si nk, or
laundry tub; in wet basem ent; or near a swim ming pool; and the lik e.
8. Access ori es – Do not place this product on an unstable cart, s t and, tripo d, bracket or t abl e. T he product m ay f all,
causing serious in j ury to a child or adu lt and ser ious dam age to the product. Use onl y with a cart, stand, tripod,
brack et or table r ecomm ended b y the manuf acturer or sold with the product. Any m ounting of the pro duct shoul d
follow the manuf acturer‟ s instructions, and sh ould use a mounting acc essory recomm ended by the manufacture r.
9. A product an d cart com bination sh ould be m oved with care; quick stops, excessive forc e and uneven surface m ay
cause the product an d cart combination to ov erturn.
10. V e ntilation – S lot s and op enings in the cab inet are prov ided f or ventilation and to ens ure rel iable operation of the
product and to protec t it from overheating. T hese open ings must not be block ed or covered. The openings s hould
never be blo c ked by p lacing the pr oduct on a bed, sofa, rug, or other sim ilar surf ace. Th is pr oduct should not be
placed in a bu ilt-in installation such as a bookcase or rack unl ess proper ventilation is provided or the man ufacturer‟ s
instructions have be en adhered to.
11. Power So urces – This pr oduct s hould be operated onl y f rom the
type of power source indica ted on the m arking l abel. If you are not
sure of the t y pe of power suppl y to your hom e, consult your product
dealer or local p ower c ompan y . For pr od ucts intended to op erate
from batt ery power , or other sources, r efer to the op erating
instructions.
12. Gro u nding or Polarization – T his product m ay be equip ped with a
polarized al ternating-curre nt line plug (a pl ug ha ving one blade
wider than the other) . This pl ug will fit into the po wer outlet only
one wa y . This is a saf ety f eature; if y ou are un able to insert the
plug full y into th e outlet, try reversi ng the plug. If the plug shou ld
still fail to fit, contact your electrician to replace your obsolete outlet.
Do not defea t the safet y p urpose of the polarized plug. (FOR USA

13. Power-Cord Pro tection – Power-su pply cord should be r outed so
that they are not likely to be walked on or pinched by items pl aced upon o r against them, payi ng particular at tention to
cord at plugs, con venience receptacles and t he point where the y exit from the product.
14. Protective Attachment Plug – The pro duct is equ ipp ed with an at tac hment plug having ov erload protection. This is a
safety feature. See Instruction Manual for replacem ent or resetting or protecti ve device. If replacem ent of the plug is
required, be sure t he servi ce technic ian has used a r eplacem ent plug sp ecified by the m anufacturer that has the
same overload protec tion as the original plug.
15. Ou tdo or Antenna Gr oundin g – If an ou tside antenna or cable system is connected to the product, be sure the antenna
or cable s ystem is groun ded so as to provide som e prote ction aga inst voltage s urges and built- up static ch arg es.
Article S10 of National Elec trical Code, ANSI/NFP A 70, provides inform ation wi th regard to proper gr ound ing of the
mast and supporting structure, grounding of the lead- in wire to an antenn a discharge unit, size of gro undi ng
conductors, location of antenna-discharge unit, conn ection to ground ing electr odes and require men ts for the
grounding electrode. See Figure 131.1.
16. Lightnin g – For adde d protection for this prod uct duri ng a lightning storm or when it is left unattended and unused f or
a long per iod of time, unpl ug it from the wall o utlet a nd disconnect the antenna or cable system. This will prevent
damage to the product d ue to lightning and power -line surges.
17. Power Lines – An ou tsi de antenna s ystem should n ot be located in the vicinit y of overhead power lines or oth er
electric li ght or power circu it s, or where it can fall into such power li nes or circuits. When installing an ou tside antenna
system, extreme care shou ld be taken to keep fr om touch ing such power lines or circ uit s, as c ontact with them m ight
be fatal.
18. Overloading – Do not overload wall outlets, extensio n c ords, or integral convenience receptacles as this can result in
a risk of fire or electric shock.
19. Object and liquid E ntry – Never push objects of any kind into this product thro ugh openin gs as t hey ma y touch
dang ero us vo lt age points or short-out parts that could result in a fire or el ectr ic shock . Never spill liquid of an y kind on
the product.
20. Servicing – Do not attempt to service t his product yourself as openi ng or rem oving co vers ma y ex pos e you to
dangerous vo lt age or other hazards. Refer a ll serv icing to qualified ser vice personnel.
21. Dama ge Requiring Ser vice – Unplug this product from the wall outlet and ref er servicing to qualified s ervice
personnel under the f ollowing conditions:
a) W hen the power-suppl y cord or plug is dam aged.
b) If liquid has been spilled or objec ts have fallen into the product,
c) If the product has been exposed to rain or wate r ,
d) If the product does not operate nor mal ly by following the op erating instruc tions, adjust onl y those controls
that are covered by t he operating instructions as an i mproper ad justment of other controls m ay r esult in
damage and will often req uire extensive work by a qu alified technician to restor e the product to its norm al
operation.
e) If the product has been dropped or dam aged in any wa y , and
f) W hen the product exhi bits a distinct change in perform ance – this indicates a ne ed for service.
22. Replacement Parts – W hen replacem e nt p arts are required, be sure the service technici an has us ed r eplacement
par ts sp ecified by th e m anufacturer or have the sam e charac teristics as the orig inal part. Un authorized subs titutions
may result in fire, ele ctric shock , or other hazards.
23. Safety Ch eck – Up on co mpletion of any service or repairs to this product, ask t he service technician to perform s afety
checks to determ ine that the product is in proper operating condition.
24. Wall or Ceiling Mo unting – The pro duct should be mounted to a wall or ceiling onl y as recommended by t he
manufac turer .
25. Heat – The product sh ould be situated a way from heat sources such as r adiators, heat registers, stoves, or other
products (including am plifiers) that produce heat.
