Operating the oven
The crumb tray must always be inserted below the lower heating element!
• With the middle rotary knob you can set the requested function, choose between “upper heat
with rotisserie”, “lower heat” and “upper and lower heat with rotisserie”.
The motor for the rotisserie spit drives automatically also at the setting “lower heat”
irrespective of whether a spit is slotted in.
• By means of the rotary knob for the temperature selection below you can select the desired
oven temperature. The temperature is infinitely variable up to 250 °C.
• Now, the pilot lamp glows. Once the pilot lamp goes out, the selected temperature has been
reached. Cycling on and off during operation, the pilot lamp shows the thermostatic regulation
of the oven temperature.
• During operation the interior illumination is turned on and makes it possible for you to observe
your food.
You will find explanations on changing a defective lamp at the end of this
instruction manual.
• During the baking/roasting process a certain air exchange in the oven is required, which might
cause the temperatures in the front and back area of the oven to diverge slightly. This is why
we recommend turning the dishes when half the cooking time is over.
• For using the circulating air function press the circulating air rocker switch. It glows when it is
activated. The circulating air function can be activated or deactivated anytime during operation.
Usage of the rotisserie function
• Slide one fixing bracket on the spit and tighten it with the screw. Now skewer the prepared
chicken onto the spit centrally until it is pushed firmly into the first fixing bracket.
• Then slide the second fixing bracket on the spit and push it firmly into the chicken. Also
tighten this screw.
• Check that the chicken is properly centred on the spit.
• Tightly truss the chicken with a heat-proof cotton string suitable for food to prevent any meat
parts from getting in contact with the heating elements. The food to be roasted should have at
least 2 cm distance to the heating element.
• By means of the rotisserie handle you may now lift the rotisserie assembly into the oven.
Firstly, insert the spit with the pointed end in the hole on the right hand side of the interior
oven and then place it in the support provided on the left hand side.
• Set the upper function selector switch to “upper heat with rotisserie” or “upper and lower heat
with rotisserie”. The spit starts turning.
• Make sure that the meat to be grilled is rotating properly and that it has at least 2 cm distance to
the heating elements (IMPORTANT – otherwise the meat might catch fire).
• Then set the desired temperature by means of the upper rotary knob.
• We recommend filling about half of the baking tray with water and inserting it in the lower
guiding to make it act as a drip pan. By this means, dripping fat will be collected and the
appliance will stay clean and your food will become especially tender due to the ascending steam.
• Please make sure to set the function switch to “upper heat with rotisserie” in this case.
Switching off
Switch off the appliance by turning all knobs to the “0”/“OFF” position and pulling the mains plug.
Cleaning and maintenance
Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool down before cleaning!
Wipe the casing and the oven chamber with a moist cloth and some dishwashing detergent and
wipe dry.
Always keep the heating plates dry, moistness and dampness lead to rust. There are special
detergents available in the specialised trade.
All accessories can be cleaned in warm water with some dishwashing detergent; wipe dry thoroughly.
Never immerse the appliance in water and make sure no steam or water may infiltrate the
appliance from the underside! On no account must you use steel wool, scrubbing pads,
abrasives, solvents or oven cleaners!
