Troubleshooting
Detection Cause and remedy
Appliance has no function • Check if the plug is connected properly.
• Check the mains outlet by connecting a
different appliance for testing.
• Check if power cord or plug are damaged. If
so, do not use the appliance.
Appliance cannot be switched on • Check if the glass jug sits properly on the
base unit.
The display shows error code “E1” • The appliance is overheated. Unplug and
let it cool down. Do NOT use cold water for
cooling!
Then start the appliance anew.
P
hase 3 (steeping time) cannot be started
after phase 2 (inserting the infuser) has
been completed
• The current water temperature is higher than
the set brewing temperature. Wait until the
water has cooled down to the set brewing
temperature.
Then re-start phase 3 by pressing the "START"
button!
Appliance makes loud running noise
during heating-up
• Appliance is scaled. Run a decalcification
cycle as per instructions!
Tea making requires more time than
usual
• Appliance is scaled. Run a decalcification
cycle as per instructions!
Quantity of ready tea is less than
quantity of filled water
• Mind that each tea type absorbs and s a
different quantity of water. This is the reason
why the tea quantity is less that the water
quantity before. In addition during brewing a
certain amount of water will vaporize as well.
Glass jug and/or tea infuser take on the
odour of the used tea type
• The materials of glass jug and tea infuser
might take on the odour of especially intense
tea types (e. g. peppermint or other herbals)
and also get discolorations. This is normal
and no reason for complaint! Clean jug and
infuser as per instructions.
