5. CLEANING
ATTENTION: Before cleaning this appliance always pull the mains plug rst.
Prior to cleaning the appliance or equipment please wash your hands
carefully. Clean the surface of the appliance with a moist cloth and mild
detergent (no abrasive cleaners or solvents). Should any liquid get into
the appliance in the process, under no circumstances connect the
appliance to the mains, but contact your service point.
Clean all equipment (containers, lids, jars etc.) thoroughly and let it dry
completely. For cleaning the equipment in a dishwasher use the top
rack only. In the event the suction nozzle (4) and the belonging
transparent cover (5) need cleaning, insert a coin in the space provided,
as shown in the gure, and pry the cover off the appliance. The suction
nozzle and the cover should be cleaned with a damp cloth and mild
detergent (no abrasive cleaners or solvents) before and after use.
Make sure they are rinsed and dried thoroughly before remounted
on the appliance.

7. TROUBLESHOOTING
Appliance not working
• Check the correct tting of the wall plug. Check the socket by plugging in another appliance.
• Check whether mains cable or plug show damages. If yes - do not operate the appliance!
Appliance does not create a complete vacuum inside the container
• Do not ll the container or jar completely but leave a space above of at least 3 cm
to its upper rim.
Remember that liquids must be allowed to cool (in the fridge to be sure) before being
vacuum-sealed.
• Check to see whether the upper rim of the container or jar as well as the seal of the universal
lid is undamaged and clean. Clean the rim and the lid with a tepid moist cloth and start the
vacuum sealing process again.
• Ensure that the seal of the lid on the container or universal lid ts correctly and is undamaged.
Rectangular Family containers lose their vacuum
• Check to see whether the vacuum indicator (9a) has become depressed completely.
• Check to see whether the seal of the lid on the container ts correctly and is undamaged.
Other Family containers lose their vacuum
• Check to see whether the seal below the middle knob (12) of the lid of the container
is correctly positioned and ts exactly.
Executive containers or universal lids lose their vacuum
• Check to see whether the star-shaped knob of the lid of the container or universal lid is
set at „VACUUM“ before the vacuum sealing process and turned to „CLOSED“ afterwards.
• Check to see if the O-ring under the knob of the lid of the container or universal lid is
positioned correctly and ts exactly.
