STARTING UP
Before starting-up the tool, ensure that:
- the packaging is complete and does not show signs of having been
damaged during storage or transport;
- the tool is complete; check that the number and type of compo-
nents comply with that reported in this instruction booklet;
- the power supply and socket outlet can support the load reported in
the table and that indicated on the tool identification plate reprodu-
ced and explained on page 11.
FITTING ABRASIVE WHEELS OR CUTTERS
AR11N - AR52EN:
1. Insert the spindle of the wheel or cutter in the collet seating (5);
2. keep the collet spindle (4) still using the wrench supplied and tigh-
ten lock-nut (6);
3. check that the tool does not rotate off-centre.
When the need arises to use tools having a spindle diameter of Ø 3
mm, fit the reduction collet supplied as accessory.
To fit the reduction collet:
4. unscrew nut (6);
5. insert the reduction collet;
6. re-tighten the nut then follow the normal tool fitting procedure.
AR38N - AR38EN:
1. Fit pliers (Part. No. 921.131 or 922.131) into the out (Part No. 513.131)
and make sure that they are housed in their seal;
2. fit the milling cutter into the pliers, paying attention to the stem diame-
ter which shall be equal to the pliers hole;
3. it is recommended to insert the mill into the collect extracting it
together with the nut from the collect shaft;
4. tighten the nut, the pliers and milling cutter on the pliers-holding shall
(Part No. 512.131).
When the need arises to use tools having a spindle diameter of Ø 3 mm
or Ø 6,35 mm, replace the collet supplied with the spare collet having
the necessary seat diameter.
To make the replacement:
5. unscrew the nut (6);
6. substituite the collet;
7. re-tighten the nut then follow the normal tool fitting procedure (see
point 3).
BEFORE STARTING THE TOOL
Ensure that:
- the power supply conforms with the characteristics of the tool;
- the power supply cable and plug are in perfect condition;
- the ON/OFF switch works properly though with the power supply
disconnected;
- all the parts of the tool have been assembled in the proper manner
and that there are no signs of damage;
- the ventilation slots are not obstructed.
STARTING AND STOPPING
- Starting
: push the slide of the switch (2) forward; if the tool is to be
locked in the ON position, apply pressure to the front part of the sli-
de switch at the same time.
- Stopping
: release the slide or, if locked in position, apply pressure to
the back part of the switch and allow it to return to the stop position.
TEST RUN
Start the tool and check that there are no unusual vibration, or di-
smatching movement of the tool.
Otherwise switch-off the tool immediately and eliminate the cause.
