Foam humidity calibration:
- The cleaning foam is obtained by mixing compressed air into the product. The ma-
chine regulates the inlet air pressure, in order to vary the type of foam generated;
- Several tests demonstrate that optimal pressure for machine operations is approxi-
mately 3 bar when spraying (with brush valve pressed), that corresponds to appro-
ximately 4 bar without spraying (with brush valve not pressed).
Pressure lower than 3 bar may produce a watery foam, over 3 bar may produce dry
foam. If for any reason you machine's pressure adjustments vary they can be reset
by simply rotating the corresponding knob (19) clockwise to increase pressure, co-
unter-clockwise to decrease pressure. Make a few trial runs until the 3 bar condition
during spraying returns.
Pull the knob before turning and push to lock after adjustments.
Warning!
- If the machine is used as a liquid vacuum, check the level of water in the upper tank
(1), to avoid liquids from entering the vacuum motor;
- if the detergent used produces little foam, or when washing a carpet that has been
previously cleaned with shampoo, pour a small amount of non-foam liquid in the lo-
wer tank (2). Foam, if introduced in the motor, may damage it in time.
MAINTENANCE CK31 - CK31F - CK31FC
The manufacturer or an authorised representative must carry out a technical operating
inspection of the machine controls and check for any damage to the machine's filtering
system at least once a year. RUPES Spa is not liable for any direct or
indirect damages due to failure to comply with the instructions provided in this
manual.
Ordinary maintenance (by the user)
1. After use, before storing the machine, drain all water from both tanks. Pour some
clean water in the lower tank (2), only turn on the water pump using the switch (5),
and hold down the brush lever (13). The purpose of this operation is to clean the in-
side of the pump, quick couplings and nozzles.
2. After use store the machine in a cool dry room with the lid (15) open to prevent tank
humidity from condensing within the motor, damaging it. Damages caused by hu-
midity that condenses in the motor (like damages caused by foam vacuumed in the
motor) is not covered by warranty.
3. Periodically clean (at least every 2 months) the water filter (11), removing it from the
machine and washing it under running water.
4. Routinely check and clean the motor (16) positioned between the two tanks.
5. Remove calcium that tends to deposit in the hydraulic circuit by pouring calcium re-
moval products in the lower tanks and leaving them for several hours to work. Use
the same products used for dishwashers. Drain and rinse. This operation is required
every 6-8 months.
6. Periodically drain (every 2-3 months) the air tank from condensate that may origi-
nate during the normal working. To do this, unscrew the circular cover located be-
low the machine, locked with 2 screws, and unscrew for few loops the condensate
drain cap, without removing it completely, through the hole which is normally closed
by the circular cover. Screw the cap and the circular cover again.
ATTENTION: This operation must be done with the compressor completely empty
and with the machine switched off.
Extraordinary maintenance (by the authorised service center)
1. Excessive motor and pump brush wear may cause damages that are not covered by
warranty. Brushes must be checked about every 500 hours.
2. Periodically check power cord and plug conditions; replace if damaged or worn.
3. Compressor maintenance

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
a) Lift the upper tank (1), after having freed it by opening the side hooks (10).
b) Pour cold or room temperature water in the lower tank (2) through the load inlet
(4), adding one part SUPERFOAM for four parts water (no more than 2 litres of
product per 8 litres water is recommended).
c) Fasten the upper tank to the lower one.
d) Insert the pneumatic circuit supply tube (20) in the pump outlet quick
coupling (7).
e) Check that the sleeve outlet quick coupling valve (17) is closed. Insert the sleeve
quick coupling (14) and open the valve (17).
f ) nsert one end of the sleeve in the machine inlet (8).
g) Connect the nozzle (12) and the brush (13) with the sleeve quick couplings (14).
h) Plug the power cord (9) into an electrical socket observing the prescribed safety
regulations.
i) Insert the pneumatic supply in the quick coupling (21) (CK31F)
l) Switch on the air compressor, putting its switch in the position “I”.
m) Adjust the pressure gauge (18) to 3,5 bar using the regulator (19)
n) Turn on the water pump using the switch (5). The machine is now ready to pro-
duce foam.
o) Turn on the vacuum motor using the switch (6) to vacuum the foam.
MACHINE USE
- Press the brush lever (12) and evenly distribute the product on the surface to be clea-
ned, keeping the nozzle 20-30 cm away from the surface; ideal foam thickness
is approximately 4-5 mm;
- Let the detergent foam work for 20-30 seconds. For persistent stains, use the brush;
- vacuum the foam. Avoid suddenly vacuuming large quantities of foam that could be
vacuumed into the vacuum motor damaging it;
- always test the product in an area where any damages will not be visible;
- spray a sufficient quantity of foam to clean the surface remembering that the
active foam layer is the one closest to the surface, further layers of foam do not im-
prove results. If too mush foam is sprayed in too small an area, spread excess foam
in a thin layer.
Warning!
- Foam must be sprayed first and then vacuumed after letting it work against dirt for
a suitable period of time. Do not spray foam and vacuum simultaneously as illustra-
ted on the sticker on the nozzle (23);
- in certain cases an anti-foam product may be opportune, to be poured in the collec-
tion tank to compact vacuumed foam preventing it from entering the motor.
Washing method:
- Ideally divide the surface in several parallel strips and proceed from right to left moving
backwards over the strips for a segment equal to slightly more than half the length;
- use a pace that corresponds to the level of dirt. Reverse working direction and treat
the remaining part similarly;
- let foam work longer for persistent stains.
