7 MAINTENANCE
In order to keep the life expectancy of your stove as high as possible, we advise you to do a yearly
check-up and maintenance. When it is frequently used, it is advisable to do little cleaning chores on
frequent basis, such as emptying the ash tray / grill and cleaning the window.
Annual maintenance is best executed by your technical installing company
Remains of carbon may remain on the grill after having burnt the last time. It is not always necessary
to remove those completely, as in the next combustion they will help the other carbon to reach the
correct burning temperature.
Cleaning the baffle plate and exhaust fumes
Behind the burning chamber, you can find the baffle
plate and the exhaust where the hot air is dispersed.
These should be cleaned once a year at least ( or even
more if frequently used )
To do this, open the stove door and remove the hex
screws M6x20 (1). Also loosen the brick holders and
remove the bricks one by one
You can now clean the back side and smoke discharge
with a soft brush. Use a suitable brush and vacuum
cleaner ( for ashes ) to remove all remaining ash
residue.
Cleaning the window
The Saey Peak and Peak S have an auto-cleaning system that allows dirty windows to be postponed as
long as possible. Yet, there are different reasons that will help the window to get dirty much quicker,
and that are inevitable ( humid wood, bad burning, … )
We suggest the following actions to clean the window:
- Use some wet newspaper and peel it in the white ashes of the cold stove. Rub it on the glass.
The ashes give a grinding result without really making deep scratches.
- Clean up the window with another humid piece of cloth and shine it up gently with a dry and
clean towel .
You can also find other cleaning products in regular shops. It is not forbidden to use them of course,
but be careful to read the instructions very carefully as they may appear to be very aggressive to the
lacquer work.
