You can call your party just after sending or receiving a fax. To do so, while the document is being

transmitted (send or receive mode), you should:

+ Press the key while your fax machine displays TRANSMIS or RECEPTION. Your fax

machine then displays

PHONE:

• once the fax has been transmitted, your party’s phone rings, if its machine is compatible,

• if they answer, your machine starts ringing: pick up and speak.

When your party calls you, your phone rings and you can pick up and speak.

Polling a document consists in leaving it in your machine’s memory or document feeder, thus making it

available to one person (single polling), or several persons (multi polling), who can then perform "active

polling" on it. This requires that your machine be set to the automatic mode.

+ PRESS M, 3, 3, OK

+ Select one of these two options using the or key:

•

SINGLE POLLING: the document will be deleted from the memory as soon as it has been retrie-

ved.

•

MULTI POLLING: the document can be retrieved by several persons.

+ Press OK to confirm.

+ Select one of these three options using the or key:

•

MEMORY: the document is stored in your machine’s memory. This solution frees your machine

and the document can be retrieved by several persons.

•

PAPER FEEDER: the document can be retrieved by only one person (only in the case of SINGLE

POLLING).

•

ALPHA KEYPAD: the document is a text you type using the alphabetic keypad.

+ Press OK to confirm.

+ Enter the number of pages of the document and press OK to confirm.

❑ A message on the screen tells you if there is any document for polling. A single polling document

will automatically be deleted from the memory as soon as retrieved, unlike multi-polling, which

you can cancel through menu 63 (please refer to § Deleting a command from the queue on

page 31).

When a document has been polled on a remote fax, you can perform "active polling" on it (i.e. print it out

on your own fax machine), only if there is no document in your feeder.

+ PRESS M, 3, 2, OK
