Zer oing and weighing
Place the empty pan provided on the scale and check that the pointer is at the
zero mark befor e weighing. T o adjust the pointer to zero; slowly turn the rotating
knob located on the top or rear of the scale then tap the pan gentl y to settle the
mechanism. Readjust if necessary . Please note, some models have a r otating lens
instead of a rotating knob so they can be r eset to zero.
Note: For best r esults when weighing, always add ingr edients to centre of the pan.
Cleaning and care
1. T o prevent damage DO NOT:
a. stand scale or bowl near an oven or other direct sour ce of heat
b. immerse scale in water
c. clean with abrasive or chemical agents
d. allow to come into contact with strongly flavour ed/coloured foods or acids
such as citrus fruit-zest which can cause damage to the plastic surfaces.
Note: Wher e such items are used, it is r ecommended that the bowl or weighing
surface first be lined with greasepr oof paper or cling-film and washed/wiped clean
immediately afterwards.
2. The outer casing of the scale may be wiped clean with a damp cloth and the
bowl can be washed by hand or by dishwasher .
3. The mechanism does NOT r equire maintenance of any kind.
4. The bowl supplied with this product must not be placed in a micr owave oven.
15 YEAR GUARANTEE (UK & Ir eland) FKA Brands Ltd guarantees this product
from defect in material and workmanship f or a period of 15 years fr om the date
of purchase, except as noted below . This FKA Brands Ltd pr oduct guarantee
does not cover damage caused by misuse or abuse; accident; the attachment of
any unauthorised accessory; alter ation to the product; or any other conditions
whatsoever that are bey ond the control of FKA Brands Ltd. This guar antee is eective
only if the product is pur chased and operated in the UK / EU. A pr oduct that requir es
modification or adaptation to enable it to operate in any country other than the
country for which it was designed, manufactur ed, approved and / or authorised,
or repair of pr oducts damaged by these modifications is not covered under this
guarantee. FKA Brands Ltd shall not be r esponsible for any type of incidental,
consequential or special damages. T o obtain guarantee service on your pr oduct ,
return the pr oduct post-paid to your local service centr e along with your dated sales
receipt (as pr oof of purchase). Upon receipt, FKA Br ands Ltd will repair or r eplace, as
appropriate, y our product and return it to you, post -paid. Guar antee is solely thr ough
Salter Service Centre. Service of this product by anyone other than the Salter Service
Centre voids the guar antee.

15 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY (Australia & New Z ealand)
We or us means HoMedics Australia Pty Ltd A CN 31 103 985 717 and our contact
details are set out at the end of this warr anty;
Yo u means the purchaser or the original end-user of the Goods. You may be a
domestic user or a professional user;
Supplier means the authorised distributor or retailer of the Goods that sold you the
Goods in Australia and New Z ealand; and
Goods means the product or equipment which was accompanied by this warr anty
and purchased in Austr alia and New Zealand.
For Austr alia:
Our Goods come with guarantees that cannot be ex cluded under the Australian
Consumer Law . Y ou are entitled, subject to the pr ovisions of the Australian Consumer
Law , to a r eplacement or refund for a major failur e and for compensation for any
other reasonably f oreseeable loss or damage. Y ou are also entitled, subject to the
provisions of the Austr alian Consumer Law, to have the Goods r epaired or replaced if
the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amoun t to a major
failure. This is not a complete statement of your legal rights as a consumer .
For New Z ealand:
Our Goods come with guarantees that cannot be ex cluded under the Consumer
Guarantees Act 1993. This guarantee applies in addition to the conditions and
guarantees implied by that legislation.
The Warr anty
HoMedics sells its products with the intent that they ar e free of defects in
manufacture and workmanship under normal use and service. In the unlikely
event that your HoMedics pr oduct proves to be f aulty within 15 years fr om the date
of purchase due to workmanship or materials onl y , we will r eplace it at our own
expense, subject to the terms and conditions of this guar antee. The warr anty period
is limited to 3 months from the date of pur chase for products used commer cially/
professionall y .
T erms and Conditions:
In addition to the rights and remedies that you ha ve under the Australian Consumer
Law , Consumer Guar antees Act of New Zealand or any o ther applicable law and
without excluding such rights and remedies warr anty against defects:
1. The Goods are designed to withstand the rigors of normal household use and ar e
manufactured to the highest standar ds using the highest quality components.
Whilst unlikely , if , during the first 15 Y ears (3 months commercial use) fr om their
date of purchase fr om the Supplier (Warr anty Period), the Goods pr ove defective
by reason of impr oper workmanship or materials and none of your statutory rights
or remedies apply , we will replace the Goods, subject to the terms and conditions
of this warranty .
2. We do not ha ve to replace the Goods under this Additional Warr anty if the
Goods have been damaged due to misuse or abuse, accident, the attachment
of any unauthorized accessory , alteration to the product, improper installation,
unauthorised repairs or modifications, improper use of electrical/power suppl y,
loss of power , malfunction of damage of an operating part fr om failure to provide
manufacturer’s recommended maintenance, transportation damage, theft, neglect,
vandalism, envir onmental conditions or any other conditions whatsoever that ar e
beyond the contr ol of HoMedics.
3. This W arranty does not extend to the pur chase of used, repaired or second-hand
products or to pr oducts not imported or supplied by HoMedics Australia Pty Ltd,
including but not limited to those sold on oshore internet auction sites.
4. This W arranty extends onl y to consumers and does not extend to Suppliers.
5. Even when we do not have to r eplace the Goods, we may decide to do so anywa y .
In some cases, we may decide to substitute the Goods with a similar al ternative
product of our choosing. All such decisions are at our absolute discr etion.
6. All such replaced or substituted Goods continue to r eceive the benefit of this
Additional W arranty for the time r emaining on the original Warranty Period (or
three months, whichever is the longest).
7. This Additional W arranty does not cov er items damaged by normal wear and
tear including but not limited to chips, scr atches, abrasions, discolouration and
