2. Set scale to zero using the serrated wheel.
3. Always weigh at the same time each day , without clothes or any footwear .
4. Stand as still as possible with feet evenly spaced on the scale.
5. T o clean, only use a damp cloth. NEVER use chemicals or abrasives.
6. For maximum dur ability, keep scale dry and avoid direct heat or sunlight

material and workmanship for a period of 15 years fr om the date of purchase, ex cept as noted
below . This FKA Brands Ltd pr oduct guarantee does not cover damage caused by misuse or abuse;
accident; the attachment of any unauthorised accessory; alter ation to the product; or any other
conditions whatsoever that are bey ond the control of FKA Brands Ltd. This guarantee is eective
only if the product is pur chased and operated in the UK / EU. A product that r equires modification
or adaptation to enable it to operate in any country other than the country f or which it was
designed, manufactur ed, approved and / or authorised, or repair of products damaged b y these
modifications is not covered under this guar antee. FKA Brands Ltd shall not be r esponsible for
any type of incidental, consequential or special damages. T o obtain guar antee service on your
product, r eturn the product post-paid to your local service centr e along with your dated sales
receipt (as proof o f purchase). Upon r eceipt, FKA Brands Ltd will repair or r eplace, as appropriate,
your product and r eturn it to you, post-paid. Guarantee is solely thr ough Salter Service Centre.
Service of this product by any one other than the Salter Service Centre voids the guar antee.

15 YEAR LIMITED W ARRANTY (Austr alia & New Zealand)
We or us means HoMedics Australia Pty Ltd ACN 31 103 985 717 and our contact details are set
out at the end of this warranty;
Yo u means the purchaser or the original end-user of the Goods. You ma y be a domestic user or
a professional user;
Supplier means the authorised distributor or retailer of the Goods that sold you the Goods in
Australia and New Z ealand; and
Goods means the product or equipment which was accompanied by this warranty and pur chased
in Australia and New Z ealand.
For Austr alia:
Our Goods come with guarantees that cannot be ex cluded under the Australian Consumer Law . Y ou
are entitled, subject to the pr ovisions of the Australian Consumer Law , to a r eplacement or refund
for a major failure and for compensation f or any other reasonably f oreseeable loss or damage.
You ar e also entitled, subject to the pr ovisions of the Australian Consumer Law , to have the Goods
repaired or r eplaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amoun t to
a major failure. This is not a complete statement of your legal rights as a consumer .
For New Z ealand:
Our Goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Consumer Guar antees Act 1993.
This guarantee applies in addition to the conditions and guaran tees implied by that legislation.
The Warr anty
HoMedics sells its products with the intent that they ar e free of defects in manufactur e and
workmanship under normal use and service. In the unlikel y event that your HoMedics product
proves to be faul ty within 15 years from the date of pur chase due to workmanship or materials only ,
we will replace it at our own expense, subject to the terms and conditions of this guarantee. The
warranty period is limited to 3 months fr om the date of purchase for products used commer cially/
professionall y.
T erms and Conditions:
In addition to the rights and remedies that you hav e under the Australian Consumer Law , Consumer
Guarantees Act of New Z ealand or any other applicable law and without excluding such rights and
remedies warranty against def ects:
1. The Goods are designed to withstand the rigors of normal household use and ar e manufactured
to the highest standards using the highest quality components. Whilst unlikely , if , during
the first 15 Y ears (3 months commercial use) fr om their date of purchase fr om the Supplier
(Warr anty Period), the Goods pro ve defective by reason of impr oper workmanship or materials
and none of your statutory rights or remedies appl y, we will replace the Goods, subject to the
terms and conditions of this warranty .
2. We do not hav e to replace the Goods under this Additional W arranty if the Goods have been
damaged due to misuse or abuse, accident, the attachment of any unauthorized accessory ,
alteration to the pr oduct, improper installation, unauthorised r epairs or modifications, impr oper
use of electrical/power supply , loss of pow er , malfunction of damage of an oper ating part from
failure to pr ovide manufacturer’s recommended maintenance, transportation damage, theft,
neglect, vandalism, envir onmental conditions or any other conditions whatsoever that are
beyond the control o f HoMedics.
3. This Warranty does not e xtend to the purchase of used, r epaired or second-hand products or to
products not imported or supplied by HoMedics Austr alia Pty Ltd, including but not limited to
those sold on oshore internet auction sites.
4. This W arranty extends only to consumer s and does not extend to Suppliers.
5. Even when we do not have to replace the Goods, we may decide to do so anyway . In some cases,
we may decide to substitute the Goods with a similar alternative pr oduct of our choosing. All
such decisions are at our absolute discretion.
6. All such replaced or substituted Goods continue to r eceive the benefit of this Additional
Warr anty for the time remaining on the original W arranty Period (or thr ee months, whichever
is the longest).
7. This Additional Warran ty does not cover items damaged by normal wear and tear including but
not limited to chips, scratches, abrasions, discolour ation and other minor defects, wher e the
damage has negligible eect on the operation or performance of the Goods.
8. This Additional W arranty is limited to replacement or substitution onl y. As far as the law
permits, we will not be liable for any loss or damage caused to pr operty or persons arising from
any cause whatsoever and shall have no liability or an y incidental, consequential or special
damages.
9. This warranty is onl y valid and enforceable in Austr alia and New Zealand.
Making a Claim:
In order to claim under this W arranty y ou must return the Goods to the Supplier (place of purchase)
for replacement. If this is not possible, please contact our customer service department at the
address overleaf .
• All r eturned Goods must be accompanied by satisfactory proof of pur chase which clearly
indicates the name and address of the Supplier , the date and place of pur chase and identifies
product. It is best to pr ovide an original, legible and unmodified receipt of sales invoice.
• You must bear an y expense for return of the Goods or otherwise associated with making y our
claim under this Additional W arranty .
• This Additional Warr anty does not cover items damaged by normal wear and tear including but
