5 in 1 Digital Thermometer
A versatile thermometer with pre-pr ogrammed temper atures to help you get the very
best results when r oasting, barbequing, grilling, deep frying, or making confectionary .
Also includes a handy ‘manual’ function allo wing you to progr am your own target
temperature, an oven temperatur e display and an intelligent roasting f eature to help
with meal timing.

USING YOUR THERMOMETER
1. Press button to switch on.
2. Press button again to enter ‘set up’ mode.
3. Use the and arrows to cycle thr ough the menu options:
Roasting For measuring internal temper atures of meats, fish and poul try when
roasting, barbequing or grilling
Confection For making jams, toee, car amel etc
Frying F or measuring oil temper atures when frying
Manual F or setting your o wn target temperatur es
4. Press to confirm y our selection.
5. Continue to use the and arrows and button to select additional options on
screen. (A t any time: press to navigate back to the previous screen.)
6. Fold out the stand and unwind the cord. R emove the cord/pr obe from the pr oduct and
insert the jack end into the front of the pr oduct. The thermometer is now ready f or use
and will display the current temper ature as measured b y the thin tip of the probe.
7. When the tip of the probe reaches the same temperatur e as the target temper ature
the alarm will sound for one minute.
8. Press button to silence the alarm.
For meats, fish and poul try
Insert the tip of the probe into the centr e (thickest part) of the meat/ food. F or whole
poultry remov e trussing and then insert into the thickest part of the thigh.
Ensure the probe is not in con tact with bone, fat or gristle as this will aect the validity
of the reading.
The food can be cooked with the probe in place and the thermometer will monitor the
temperature continual ly until it reaches its tar get. Always k eep the display unit away
from direct heat.
The display will show the oven temper ature as well as the probe temper ature.
When using the probe in an oven, carefully close the o ven door onto the cord and position
the display unit near the oven with the cord out of the r each of children.
IMPORT ANT:
Do not use in oven temper atures above 250°C/480°F .
Keep the cor d end of the probe clear of the ov en walls and heating elements.
Never place the display unit inside the ov en or grill or on direct heat.
Never use the probe to lift or turn f ood items.
Intelligent Roasting F eature:
When using the probe for oven r oasting, your thermometer wil l display a handy time
countdown as the meat nears its target temper ature, helping you to better plan the
timings for the rest of your meal.
Initially , the display will sho w “- - - -“ in the Intelligent Roasting window . P art way
through cooking, the countdo wn time will appear and this will be continually updated to
reflect any fluctuations in oven temper ature etc.
NOTE When using low o ven temperatur es for slow roasting, the Intelligent Roasting timer
will not be activated until nearer the end of the cooking period.
For confectionary
The pan clip can be used to hold the probe in place in your confectionary (jam, to ee,
caramel etc). P osition the tip of the probe in the liquid, awa y from the sides and bottom
of the pan. Position the display unit to the side of the cook er away from the dir ect heat,
ensuring that the cord is out of the reach o f children.
T ake care if stirring that y ou don’t dislodge the probe.
For deep frying
Use the probe as for confectionary (see abov e), placing the tip of the probe in the oil.
For safety r easons, it is r ecommended that the probe is remov ed from the oil once a
stable temperature has been r eached, befor e adding food.

tousethepre-progr ammedHEST ONtemperatureswhichcoincidewithguidelinesgiven
in his many recipes. Heston’s temperatures ar e often slighter lower and are specifical ly
developedtogivethebestpossibletasteandtexturer esultforeachfoodtype. However ,
itisimportanttounderstandthatifyouchoosetousetemper atureslowerthantheUSDA
guidelines, there may be a gr eater health risk invol ved; particularly when cooking meat,
poultry & fish. Use of fr esh ingredients and safe food handling is v ery important. The

RESTING MEA TS
Oncemeat/poultryhasreacheditsnaltemper ature,al waysrestf oraminimumof3
minutes before carving/ serving. For r eally succulent meat that is easier to carve, Heston
recommends resting:
– Smal lcuts(eg:steaks,br easts&burgers)for5minutes.
– Lar ger cuts (eg: roast chick en & other roasting joints) for 30 – 45 minutes.
