02 USING Y OUR MICROWA VE OVEN
1 POUND DEFROS T BUTT ON
T o thaw 1 lb. of fro zen food, pr ess this button, and the microwave aut omatically sets the defrosting time, power level
and standing time.
1. Pr ess the 1 Pound Defr ost button. The display shows: 1.0 Lbs
2. Pr ess the ENTER/ST ART butt on to start defrosting.
3. The oven will beep during the defrosting process. Open the oven door , turn the food over , and the press the
ENTER/ST AR T button.
4. If you do not turn the food over , the oven will pause until you press the ENTER/S T ART butt on.
SOFTEN/MEL T BUTT ON
1. Pr ess the Soften/Melt button. P ress the button r epeatedly to cycle thr ough the available items. (Refer to the
Soften/Melt table below for a list of the it ems.)
2. Pr ess the number 1 or 2 button to select the amount. Y ou can cook only 1 ser ving using the Melt Chocolate,

This progr am is suitable for whole poultry as well as for poultry pieces. Before
defrosting, if there ar e a lot of ice crystals on the poultry’s surface, rinse the poultry
under cold water until all the ice crystals are r emoved. Then, let the poultry stand for
5 to 10 minut es at room temper ature. Shield the legs and wing tips with aluminum
foil. Place poultry pieces skin-side down, or whole poultry breast-side down, in
the middle of a flat microwave-safe plate. P osition the plate in the center of the
turntable. T urn the poultry over when the oven beeps.

This progr am is suitable for fish fillets. Shield the thinner edge of the fillet with

Check the food when you hear the oven signal. After the final stage, small sections may still be icy . Let the food
stand to continue the thawing process. The food is not defr osted until all ice crystals have melted. Shielding the
edges of roasts and pieces of steak using small pieces of foil pr events the edges from being cooked befor e the
center of the food has defrost ed. Use narrow , flat, smooth strips of aluminum foil to cover edges and thinner
sections of the food.
