EN Infrared C ooking Plate
User'smanual
■ Prior to using this appliance, please read the user's manual thoroughly , even in cases,
when one has already familiarised themselves with previous use of similar types of
appliances. Only use the appliance in the manner described in this user’ s manual.
Keep this user'smanual in asaf e place where it can be easily retrieved for future use .
■ We rec ommend saving the original cardboard box, packaging material, purchase
receipt and responsibility statement of the vendor or warran ty card for at least the
duration of the legal liability for unsatisfactory performance or quality. In the event
of transportation, we recommend that you pack the appliance in the original bo x
from the manufacturer .
DESCRIPTION OF THE APPLIANCE
A1 Hotplate
A2 I ndicator light (indicates operation
of the hotplate)
A3 Temperature c ontrol knob (serves to
control the cooktop)
Before first use
■ Before first use, take the appliance and its acc essories out of the packaging material
and remove all promotional labels and stickers . Check that neither the appliance nor
any of its parts is damaged.
■ Wipe the surface of the appliance with aclean, lightly dampened cloth. Then wipe
it dry - see fig. B.
Operating the appliance
■ Place the appliance on ak itchen countertop or on atable within reach of a power
socket. At the same time, make sure that all saf ety instructions are followed.
■ Make sure that the temperature contr ol knob A3 is set to position “OFF" and that
there are no foreig n objects located on the hotplate A1 and that its surface is clean.
■ Fully un wind the power cord and connect it to apower socket.
Note:
Since the appliance heats up during operation, the power cor d must
be located in such a way that it is not touching the surface of the
appliance.
■ Place a pot or pan on the appropriate hotplate. T o achieve optimal power
consumption and cooking time, use cookware with a flat base, the diameter of
which corresponds to the size of the hotplate - see fig . F . Place the ingredients in to
the pot or pan.
■ Turn the t emperature control knob A3 clockwise until you hear a click - see fig. C.
Then turn the temperature contr ol knob A3 and set the required temperature level
- see fig. D . The highest level M AX is used for achieving aquick boil. The temperature
level can be changed at any time during operation as r equired. During operation the
thermostat switches the hotplate on and off to maintain the set temperatur e. The
indicator light A2 signals the thermostat switching on and off .
Note:
When first turned on, there may be light smoke emitted. This is an
entirely normal event, which will disappear after afew minutes .
■ Regularly check the condition of the food while the hotplate is running. Do not leav e
the appliance without supervision when it is in operation.
■ When you have finished cooking, turn the tempera ture control knob A3
anticlockwise to the "OFF" position - see fig. E. Then disconnect the power plug from
the power socket.
■ Allow the appliance to fully cool down and then clean it acc ording to the instructions
in chapter Cleaning and maintenance. Keep in mind that the appliance will emit
residual heat for acertain time after it is used. Do not touch the hot surface. There is
adanger of burns. Never move the applianc e unless it has cooled down completely.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
■ Clean the appliance after every use. Makes sure that dried on food or other residues
do not accumulate on it. Before cleaning it, alw ays set the temperature control knob
A3 to position “OFF" , disconnect the power cord from the pow er socket and allow
the appliance to cool down completely .
■ T o clean the hotplate A1 , use a soft, lightly dampened textile. T hen wipe the
hotplate A1 dr y.
■ T o clean the surface around the hotplates A1 , use a soft, lightly dampened textile.
In the event of greater soiling, use a small amount of neutral kitchen detergent.
Remove any remaining deter gent using a clean, lightly dampened cloth. Then
thoroughly wipe the cleaned surface until dry.
■ Do not use steel wool, solvents , cleaning products with an abrasive effect, etc. to
clean the appliance. Otherwise the sur face coat of the appliance may be damaged.
■ Discolouration of the surface of the appliance may occur after a certain period of
use. However , this does not have an y effect on the functionality of the appliance.
Warning:
T o prevent the risk of injury by electrical shock, do not submerge
the appliance, power cor d or power plug in water or any another
liquid.
Storage
When not using the appliance for an extended period of time, disconnect the power
plug from the power socket, allow the appliance t o cool down and clean it according
to the instructions provided above. Bef ore storing it, check that the appliance is clean
and dry. Store the appliance in a dry, clean and well-ventilated location not e xposed to
extreme temperatures and out of children'sr each.
