22 Getting Started
Standard toolbar
Provides a typical range of standard editing tools, typically creating new or
opening existing projects, as well as cutting, pasting, and undo/redo
operations.
Tasks toolbar
Offers access to the Menu Designer (for menu-driven DVDs/VCDs) and a
range of movie exporting options (to disc, camera, file, iPod, PSP, or
YouTube).
Storyboard/Timeline toolbars
These toolbars host essentialtools for video editing in Storyboard or Timeline
mode, respectively. A Context toolbar alongside either toolbar offers tools
relevent to the currnelty seelected object type (clip, transition, etc.).
How To pane
Shows step-by-step instructions for making and exporting movies in
Storyboard mode.
Video Preview pane
Displays your current project, with built-in project playback control and a
host of viewing tools.
Media pane
Stores and arranges media files that you've imported, downloaded, captured,
and ripped, before dragging to the storyboard (or timeline).
Properties pane
Use the pane to display and modify the properties of any currently selected
object (clip, transition, effect, etc.).
Galleries pane
Use the pane to apply transitions, video effects, and text animations by drag
and drop of presets. Audio effect and Envelope presets show in Timeline
mode.
