190 Publishing and Sharing
Several common reasons to export as picture include:
• Creating a first-page graphic of your publication for book
promotion or design previews.
• Creating an eBook cover.
• Exporting an object (or selection of objects) for use in website
design.
• In the example above, a cover page is created on export, or the
logo from the same publication can be exported in isolation.
To export as a picture:
1. Select Export as Picture from the File menu.
2. (Optional) From the Export Area section, you can scale the
picture to a new size if desired (change Width and Height), or
adjust the dpi (dots per inch) setting. For graphics to be used
on-screen, it's best to leave these values intact. For hi-res
printing, set a dpi of 300.
3. From the drop-down list, choose if the export can be based on
the whole Page, All Pages, Selected Area, or Selected Objects.
The last two options only show if a selection is made
previously.
4. From the Properties section, select the intended graphics file
format from the Format drop-down list. The remaining box
area will display different options depending on your chosen
graphics format. Change settings as appropriate to the file
format selected (see DrawPlus Help for more information).
5. Click Export. If you click Close, PagePlus remembers your
preferred format and settings.
6. From the Export as Picture dialog, navigate to a folder of your
choice, enter a File name, then click Save.
