and at least 8 years of age.
∙ The appliance and its power
cord must be kept well away
from children under 8 at all
times.
∙ Caution: Keep any packaging materials
well away from children – these are
a potential source of danger, e.g. of
suffocation.
∙ Caution: do not, under any
circumstances, cover the grill rack
with aluminium foil, barbecue dishes
or other items, as the resulting build-
up of heat could destroy the grill.
∙ Before the appliance is used, the main
body as well as any attachment fi tted
should be checked thoroughly for any
defects. Should the appliance, for
instance, have been dropped onto a hard
surface, it must no longer be used: even
invisible damage may have adverse
effects on the operational safety of the
appliance. In this case, please contact
our customer service.
∙ During operation, the barbecue grill
must be placed on a level, heat-resistant
surface, impervious to splashes and
stains. When grilling food with a high fat
or moisture content, splashes are not
always avoidable.
∙ If your grill comes with a wind screen,
it must not be fi tted when used
indoors.
∙ Do not position the grill next to a wall or
corner, and ensure that no infl ammable
materials are stored near it.
∙ Caution: Do not use the grill outdoors if
it is raining.
∙ Caution: There is always a possibility
that food with a high fat or moisture
content might catch fi re; the grill
pan must therefore always be fi lled
with water before the appliance is
connected to the mains power.
∙ The water helps to cool down the grill
pan, reduces the build-up of smoke, and
also facilitates cleaning.
∙ The water level has to be kept between
the ‘Min’ and ‘Max’ markings at all times.
These markings can be found inside the
grill pan (see diagrams).
∙ Always ensure that the water level is kept
above the ‘Min.’ mark. Water should be
added in good time, while ensuring that
it does not come into contact with the
heating element. Caution: Disconnect
the grill from the mains before adding
water.
∙ Before using the barbecue grill,
always ensure that the grill pan and
heating element are correctly fi tted
into the housing.
∙ The barbecue grill must be supervised
at all times during operation.
∙ Always bear in mind that the housing
surfaces as well as the heating element
become very hot during operation. Even
after the heating element is switched
off, it must not be touched until it has
suffi ciently cooled down - there is
otherwise a severe danger of burns.
∙ Do not allow the power cord to touch any
hot parts of the appliance.
∙ Always remove the plug from the wall
socket
