How to use your raclette grill
Before first use
-
Remove any packing materials
completely.
-
Before using your raclette grill for the
first time, clean the cooking plate and the
mini-pans with a damp cloth.
-
We recommend that you heat up the
appliance for about 10 minutes, without
any food on the plate or in the pans, to
eliminate the ‘new’ smell which may be
emitted when it is first switched on. A
small amount of smoke may also be
noticeable, so ventilate the room during
this procedure.
-
Before the food to be grilled is placed
onto the cooking plate, the plate should
be lightly greased with a small amount of
oil specifically intended for frying, which
may be safely heated to high
temperatures.
Operation
-
Place the cooking plate onto the
appliance and lock it by pushing the plate
down and moving it towards the
symbol, so that the protruding studs
are safely engaged. To unlock, move the
plate towards the symbol.
-
Insert the plug into a suitable outlet and
use the On/Off switch to turn the
appliance on. Let the appliance preheat
for about 10 minutes to reach the
temperature necessary for melting cheese
and for grilling.
-
If required, place the food to be grilled
onto the cooking plate.
-
Put the raclette cheese into the mini-
pans, then put them into the appliance,
underneath the heating element, and
leave them until the cheese has melted.
Note: Do not place empty mini-pans in
the appliance while it is switched on.
-
To prevent damage to the non-stick
coating of the cooking plate and mini-
pans, do not use any sharp or pointed
objects when handling the food.
-
Once grilling is finished, use the On/Off
switch to turn the appliance off, and then
disconnect it from the mains supply
socket.
Preparing raclette cheese
Use about 200 to 300 grammes of cheese per
person. Cut the cheese into slices of about 3
to 5 mm thickness and put them into the
mini-pans. It is preferable to use original
raclette cheese. Any other fast-melting
cheese, however, is also suitable. Because of
the heat above, the cheese will melt quite
quickly.
Practical hints
-
Frozen food should always be properly
thawed before it is cooked.
-
To avoid damage to the coating of grill
plate and mini-pans, use only non-
abrasive utensils.
-
When grilling larger amounts of food, the
accumulated fat residues should be
carefully removed from time to time.
