Troubleshooting chart

Many potential problems can be resolved by the owner without call-

ing a service technician.

If something is wrong with this product, check the following before

calling your authorized SHARP dealer or service center.

" General

" DVD player

Symptom Possible cause

The power is not

turned on.

! Is the system unplugged?

! Are the system connection cords discon-

nected?

No sound is

heard.

! Is the volume level set to "0"?

! Are the headphones connected?

! Are the speaker wires disconnected?

The sound from

speakers is not

well balanced.

! Are the speaker wires connected to the

wrong channels?

Noise is heard

during playback.

! Move the system away from any computers

or mobile phones.

When a button is

pressed, the sys-

tem does not re-

spond.

! Set the system to the power stand-by mode

and then turn it back on.

! If the system still malfunctions, reset it. (Re-

fer to page 64.)

Interference or

noise occurs on

the TV image.

! Is the system placed near TV with internal

antenna? Use an outdoor antenna.

The display on

the main unit is

dark.

! Is the display in the dimmer mode?

No images are

displayed.

! Is the TV turned on?

! Is the TV input switched on?

! The video output mode may not match the

jacks you are using. Change the mode as

follows. In the stop mode, press the SHIFT

button and SCAN SELECT button on the re-

mote control a few times (see page 22).
