powertools.Suchpreventivesafetymeasuresreduce

theriskofstartingthepowertoolaccidentally.

d) Storeidlepowertoolsoutofthereachofchildrenand

donotallowpersonsunfamiliarwiththepowertoolor

theseinstructionstooperatethepowertool. Power

toolsaredangerousinthehandsofuntrainedusers.

e) Maintainpowertools.Checkformisalignmentor

bindingofmovingparts,breakageofpartsandany

otherconditionthatmayaffectthepowertool’s

maintained power tools.

f) Keepcuttingtoolssharpandclean. Properly

maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are

less likely to bind and are easier to control.

g) Usethepowertool,accessoriesandtoolbitsetc.,

inaccordancewiththeseinstructions,takinginto

accounttheworkingconditionsandtheworktobe

performed.Useofthepowertoolforoperations

differentfromthoseintendedcouldresultina

hazardous situation.

5)SERVICE

a) Haveyourpowertoolservicedbyaqualifiedrepair

personusingonlyidenticalreplacementparts.

Thiswillensurethatthesafetyofthepowertoolis

maintained.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR ANGLE GRINDERS

1)SAFETYINSTRUCTIONSFORALLOPERATIONS

a) Thispowertoolisintendedtofunctionasagrinder,

sander,wirebrushorcut-offtool.Readallsafety

warnings,instructions,illustrationsand

specificationsprovidedwiththispowertool.

Failuretofollowallinstructionslistedbelowmayresult

inelectricshock,reand/orseriousinjury.

b) Thispowertoolisnotrecommendedforpolishing.

Operationsforwhichthepowertoolwasnotdesigned

may create a hazard and cause personal injury.

c) Donotuseaccessorieswhicharenotspecifically

designedandrecommendedbythetool

manufacturer.Just because the accessory can be

attachedtoyourpowertool,itdoesnotassuresafe

operation.

d) Theratedspeedoftheaccessorymustbeatleast

equaltothemaximumspeedmarkedonthepower

tool.Accessoriesrunningfasterthantheirratedspeed

can ﬂy apart.

e) Theoutsidediameterandthethicknessofyour

accessorymustbewithinthecapacityratingofyour

powertool.Incorrectly sized accessories cannot be

adequatelyguardedorcontrolled.

f) Thearboursizeofwheels,flanges,backingpadsor

anyotheraccessorymustproperlyfitthespindleof

thepowertool.Accessories with arbour holes that do

notmatchthemountinghardwareofthepowertoolwill

runoutofbalance,vibrateexcessivelyandmaycause

lossofcontrol.

g) Donotuseadamagedaccessory.Beforeeachuse

inspecttheaccessorysuchasabrasivewheelsfor

chipsandcracks,backingpadsforcracks,tearor

excesswear,wirebrushesforlooseorcrackedwires.

Ifthepowertooloraccessoryisdropped,inspectfor

damageorinstallanundamagedaccessory.

Afterinspectingandinstallinganaccessory,

positionyourselfandbystandersawayfromtheplane

oftherotatingaccessoryandrunthepowertoolat

maximumnoloadspeedforoneminute.Damaged

accessories will normally break apart during this test time.

h) Wearpersonalprotectiveequipment 4. Depending

onapplication,usefaceshield,safetygogglesor

safetyglasses.Asappropriate,weardustmask,

hearingprotectors,glovesandshopaproncapable

ofstoppingsmallabrasiveorworkpiecefragments.

Theeyeprotectionmustbecapableofstoppingying

debrisgeneratedbyvariousoperations.Thedustmask

orrespiratormustbecapableofltratingparticles

generated by your operation. Prolonged exposure to

high intensity noise may cause hearing loss.

i) Keepbystandersasafedistanceawayfromwork

area.Anyoneenteringtheworkareamustwear

personalprotectiveequipment.Fragmentsofthe

workpieceorofabrokenaccessorymayyawayand

causeinjurybeyondtheimmediateareaofoperation.

j) Holdthepowertoolonlybytheinsulatedgripping

surfaceswhenperforminganoperationwherethe

cuttingtoolmaycontacthiddenwiringoritsown

powercord.Contactwitha“live”wirewillalsomake

exposedmetalpartsofthepowertool“live”andshock

the operator.

k) Positionthecordclearofthespinningaccessory.

Ifyoulosecontrol,thecordmaybecutorsnaggedand

your hand or arm may be pulled into the spinning

accessory.

l) Neverlaythepowertooldownuntiltheaccessory

hascometoacompletestop.The spinning accessory

maygrabthesurfaceandpullthepowertooloutof

your control.

m) Donotrunthepowertoolwhilecarryingitatyour

side.Accidental contact with the spinning accessory

couldsnagyourclothing,pullingtheaccessoryinto

your body.

n) Regularlycleanthepowertool’sairvents.

Themotor’sfanwilldrawthedustinsidethehousing

andexcessiveaccumulationofpowderedmetalmay

cause electrical hazards.

o) Donotoperatethepowertoolnearflammable

materials.Sparks could ignite these materials.

p) Donotuseaccessoriesthatrequireliquidcoolants.

Usingwaterorotherliquidcoolantsmayresultin

electrocution or shock.

2)KICKBACKANDRELATEDWARNINGS

• Kickbackisasuddenreactiontoapinchedorsnagged

rotatingwheel,backingpad,brushoranyother

accessory.Pinchingorsnaggingcausesrapidstallingof

the rotating accessory which in turn causes the

uncontrolledpowertooltobeforcedinthedirection

oppositeoftheaccessory’srotationatthepointof

the binding.
