Push-to-talk

Starting with rmware 500.1, the push-to-talk functionality is available on our handsets M30, M65,

M70, M80, M85 and M90. It allows the handset to be used like a handheld transceiver (walkie-talkie)

between handsets registered at the same base station or in the same multicell system. The function

must be enabled on each handset, and the handset must be idle to transmit or received push-to-talk

calls. Only one person can speak at a time.

Note 1: When the push-to-talk feature is enabled on one handset on a system of base

stations, only six calls can be ongoing at the same time from any base station which has

the handset connected.

Note 2: When a handset is in an active call, it will not receive a push-to-talk call.

In the default setting, the feature is o. It must be enabled for each handset individually, either on

each individual handset or on the base station web interface.

Enabling the function in the handset menu

1. Press the menu key.

2. In the main menu, select Settings.

3. In the settings menu, select Push To Talk to enable the function for this handset.

4. Select On.

Enabling the function on the base station's web interface (from rmware 530B2)

1. In the menu on the left side, click Extensions.

2. In the table on the Extensions page, click the IPEI of the handset whose push-to-talk function you

want to enable.

3. On the Handset page, select Enabled from the drop-down list of Push-to-Talk.

4. Click Save.

5. Repeat step 2 and 3 for each handset you want to be able to use the function.

Using the function

On idle screen, use the mute key on the M65, M70, M80, M85 and M90. Use the left rim of the

navigation key on the M30.

1. To initiate a call to all handsets in the system that have enabled the push-to-talk function, press

and hold the mute button. The handset will open a direct communication channel to the other

handsets. Note: push-to-talk calls will only be received by idle handsets.

2. Release the mute button to end the call.

3. Now another person can press and hold the mute button on their handset to respond. Note: Only

one person can speak at a time.
