T o change the play mode

(“FLDR” for all files in the folder on the USB
device), shuffle play (“SHUF” or “FLDRSHUF” for
folder shuffle), or program play (“PRO GRAM”).
Note on Repe at Play
“RPT ALL ” indicates that all audio files on a USB
device ar e repeated until you st op playback.
Notes
When USB cable c onnection is neces sar y , connect
the USB cable supplied with the USB devic e to be
connecte d. See the operation manual supplie d
with the USB device to be c onnected for de tails on
the operation me thod.
It may take about 10 sec onds before “SEARCH”
appears depending on the type of USB device
connecte d.
Do not connect the syst em and the USB device
through a USB hub.
When the USB devic e is inserted, the system reads
all the files on the USB device. If there are many
folders or files on the USB device , it may take a
long time to finish reading the USB devic e.
With some connecte d USB devices, after an
operation is perf ormed, there may be a delay
before it is perf ormed by this system.
Compatibility with all enc oding/writing software
cannot be guar anteed. If audio files on the USB
device wer e originally encoded with incompa tible
software , those files may produce noise or
interrupte d audio, or may not play at all.
T his system canno t play audio files on the USB
device in the following c ases;
when the number of audio files in a f older
ex ceeds 999 .
when the t otal number of audio files on a USB
device e xceeds 999 .
when the number of f olders on a USB device
ex ceeds 256 (including the “ROO T” folder and
empty folders).
T hese numbers may vary depending on the file
and folder structure . Do not save other types of
files or unneces sar y folders on a USB devic e that
has audio files.
T he system can play back t o a depth of 8 folders
only .
T his system does not nec essarily support all the
functions provided in a c onnected USB device .
Files and folders are displaye d in the order of their
creation on the USB devic e.
Folders that have no audio files ar e skipped.
T he audio formats tha t you can listen to with this
system are as f ollows:
MP3: file extension “ .mp3”
WMA: file extension “ .wma”
Note that even when file name has the c orrect file
extension, if the actual file differs, the system may
produc e noise or may malfunction.
T o use the system as batt er y char ger
Y ou can use the system as a battery char ger for
USB devices that have a r echargeable function
when the system is on.
T he charging begins when the USB device is
connect ed to the
(USB) port
. T he charge
status appears in the USB devic e display . For
details, see the user’s guide of your USB device .
Notes on char ging the USB device with this
system
Y ou cannot use the system as a batt er y char ger
when the system is off.
Some USB devices can be char ged only when the
system is in the USB function.
Getting S tar t ed
Unit
Remote
T his manual mainly explains operations using the
remot e, but the same opera tions can also be
performed using the buttons on the unit having
the same or similar names.
T o use the r emote
Slide and remove the batt ery compartment lid,
and insert the R6 (size AA) battery (not supplied),
side first, matching the polarity shown below .
Notes on using the r emote
With normal use, the battery should last for about
six months.
If you do not use the remo te for a long period of
time, remove the ba ttery to avoid damage from
battery leakage and corr osion.

the same format, some sessions may not play back.
