This is the Quick Start Guide, which provides you with instructions on the basic oper ations of the IC rec order .
Please read it car efully . We hope you enjoy using your new Sony IC r ecorder .

L et’ s try out your new IC r ec or der
1. P ower on.
Slide and lift the battery compartment lid, then insert
batteries with the c orrect polarity .
T urn the power on.
Slide and hold the HOLD•PO WER ON/OFF switch in the direction of
“PO WER ON/OFF” until the window display appears.
T o turn the power off , slide and hold the HOLD•POWER ON/
OFF switch in the dire ction of “P OWER ON/OFF” until “OFF” is
displayed.
T o pr event unintentional oper ations (HOLD)
2. Se t the date and time .
When you insert batteries, “SET DA TE” appears on the display , and
then the year section begins to flash.
Press or to set the year (the last two digits of the
year), and then press PLA Y/ENTER. Repe at this proc edure
to set month, day , hour , and minute in sequence.
3 . Rec or d.
Operation

Press REC/P AUSE.
Recor ding starts and the operation indicat or lights in red.
¼ Y ou can pause r ecording by pr essing REC/P AUSE. Pr ess REC/
P AUSE again to r estart recor ding.
Place the IC r ecorder so that the built -in microphone f ace the
direction of the sour ce to be r ecorded.
Press (stop) to stop r ecording.
“ A CCESS” appears and the r ecording stops.
4. List en.

Press PLA Y/ENTER.
Playback starts and the operation indic ator lights in green.
Adjust the volume by pressing V OL –/+.
Press (stop) to stop playback.
5 . Er ase .
When the IC rec order is in the stop mode, pr ess and hold
ERASE.
When the IC rec order is in the playback mode, pr ess ERASE.
“ERASE” is displayed.
Pres s ERASE.
Pres s MENU.
Press or to select a menu item for which you w ant to
make setting, and then pr ess PLA Y/ENTER.
Press or to select the setting that you want t o set, and
then pres s PLA Y/ENTER.
Press (stop) to exit the menu mode .
On power
Operat e the unit only on 3.0 V or 2.4 V DC.
Use two LR03 (siz e AAA) alkaline batteries or two
NH-AAA r echargeable batteries.
On safety
Do not oper ate the unit while driving, cycling or
operating an y motorized vehicle .
On handling
ˎ Do not leave the unit in a loc ation near heat
sourc es, or in a plac e subject to direct sunlight,
ex cessive dust or mechanical shock.
ˎ Should any solid object or liquid f all into the unit,
remove the batt er y and have the unit check ed by
qualified personnel befor e operating it any further .
If you have any questions or problems c oncerning
