is playing. Th e current p rogram will be erased. Then
creat e a new program f ollowing the p rogramin g
procedur e.
Tip
Y ou can p lay the same pr ogram again, since the p rogram is sav ed
until you o pen the CD compartment.
Listening to the radio
1 Press RADIO•BAND•A UT O PRESET
repeatedly
(direct power-on) or press RADIO
and BAND
repeatedly on the remot e.
Each time you pr ess the bu tton, the in dication
chang es as follo ws:
“FM ” “ AM”
2 Hold down TUNE + or –
until the frequency
digits begin to change in the display .
The play er au toma tically scans the radio frequencies
and sto ps when it finds a clear sta tion.
If yo u can ’ t tune in a sta tion, pr ess the bu tto n
repeatedly to c hange the fr equency step by st ep.
When an FM st ereo br oadcast is receiv ed, “ ST”
appears.
Tips
• If the FM broadcast is no isy , press MENU/MODE
(MODE
on the remo te) until “ Mo no ” appears in the display a nd the radio
will play in mona ural.
• If you to uch or opera te an iP od connected to this unit while
listening to AM/FM, no ise may occur . A void touchin g or operatin g
the iPod in this case.
• If you ar e listening to the radio wi th an iPhone co nnected to the
unit, interf erence with radio recep tion may occur . Remove the
iPhone in this case.
• If you hear no ise from the AM/FM radio while supp lying power to
an iP od (“DC OUT” indicator ap pears in the displa y), press a nd
hold MENU/MOD E
(MODE
on the remo te) for a few
seconds to stop the po wer sup ply to the iP od (“DC OUT” indicator
disappears fro m the display).
Changing the AM tuning inter v al
If yo u need to chan ge the AM tuning in terval, do the
followin g:
1 While keeping the RADIO•BAND•AUT O PRESET
and MENU/MODE
pressed, disconnect the AC
power cor d from the wall outlet.
2 While keeping the RADIO•BAND•AUT O PRESET
and MENU/MODE
pressed, rec onnect the AC
power cor d to the wall outlet.
The tuning in terval is changed and “ AM 9” or “ AM
10” appears in the di splay f or 4 seconds.
After changin g the tuning in terval, you need to reset
your p reset radio statio ns.
Loading an iP od
P r ess PUSH OP EN

The door for the iP od is o pened.
Insert your iP od on to the co nnector .
Close the door until it clicks.
Tips
• When using an iP od nano 1st g eneration/iP od nano 2nd g eneration
(aluminum), yo u can adju st the position of the conn ector so that the
iPod is placed in the middle.
• When using an iP od other than iP od nano 1st g eneration/iP od nano
2nd generatio n (aluminum), slide the co nnector to the right.
Notes
• When using the unit with A C, the unit will au toma tically turned on.
• When connecting an iP od during the pla yback, the unit contin ues
the playback of the iP od even after the connection.
T o change the cover
When using a n iP od touch/iPho ne, yo u can rep lace the
cover wi th the exchang eable lid (su pplied).

Press the lat ches on both sides of the door at the
same time.

Shu t the door until it c licks.
Insert the exchangeable lid
Inser t the tabs of the ex changeable lid into the
slots.
Push the upper part of the exchangeable lid in until
it clicks into place.
Note
Confirm the latches are co rrectly engaged on both sides.
Presetting radio stations
Y o u can st ore radio s tations in to the pla yer ’ s memory .
Y o u can p reset up to 30 radio sta tions, 20 f or FM an d 10
for AM in an y o rder .
1 Press RADIO•BAND•A UT O PRESET

2 Hold down RADIO•BAND•AUT O PRESET
(BAND
on the remote) for 2 sec onds until “ AUT O” flashes
in the display .
3 Press DISPLA Y•ENTER

frequencies to the higher ones a ut oma tically .
If a station cannot be preset automatically
Y o u need to pr eset a station wi th a weak signal manually .

Tip
The preset radio sta tions rema in in memory even if you unp lug the
AC pow er cord o r remo ve the batteries.

Connec ting optional components
Y o u can en joy the sound fro m an op tional com ponen t
such as a portable digital m usic play er through the
speakers of this unit. Be sure to t urn off the power of
each com ponent befo re making a ny co nnections. F or
details, refer to the in struction manual of the co mpo nent
to be connected.
1 Connect the AUDIO IN jack
on the back of the
unit to the line output jack of the portable digital
music player or other components using an audio
connecting cable (not supplied).
2 T urn the unit and the connected component on.
3 Press A UDIO IN
and start playing sound on the
connected component.
The sound from the co nnected compo nent is o ut put
from the speakers of this uni t.
T o connect the unit to a TV or V CR, use an extensio n
cable (not s upp lied) with a stereo-mini jack o n one
end and two ph ono pl ugs on the other end .
