Instructions for use
In order to make the attaching of the diamond saw easier, the SPIT angle-
grinders have a system to block the rotations (Fig. C-1). Attach the
diamond saw as follows:
1. Pull out the plug.
2. Place the apparatus on its side.
3. Place the lower flange (Fig. K-1) with the slots on the underneath of
the spindle form, the notched anti-slip ribs facing upwards.
4. Place the diamond saw (Fig. K-2) on the lower flange, with regard to
the direction of the arrow on the saw and the machine.
5. Screw the upper flange (Fig. K-3) on, tightening it with the help of
the key (Fig. D-1) and press on the spindle bolt (Fig. C-1).
TAKE NOTE: never press on the spindle bolt while the angle-grinder
is in use or when you want to stop the saw from rotating.
6. In order to remove the diamond saw, perform the above operation
backwards.
Side handgrip and orientation of the gearbox in respect to the rear
handgrip (See Fig. E+H):
The SPIT SAG230 E has various points on the gearbox where one can
attach the side handgrip at different positions (see Fig. H-2). You can
also turn the gearbox up to 90°. This makes it easy to, once you have
worked with a diamond saw, change the position for grinding or trimming.
In order to turn the motor house 90° from the rear handgrip, one must
do the following (Fig. G):
1. With a cross-slotted (Philips) screwdriver, remove the four sunken
screws (Fig. G-1).
2. Turn the gearbox (Fig. G-2) 90° to the left or right, and check that
the holes for the screws in the gearbox and the motor house
(Fig. G-3) correlate.
3. Replace the four screws (Fig. G-1) and fasten them firmly.
4. Replace the safety-guard, as shown in Fig. A and B.

Instructions for use
Turning on the angle-grinder
The perfect starting limiter will allow your angle-grinder to start without
revolutionary movement.
To turn on the angle-grinder, first push the safety (Fig. F-1) on the switch
(3) forwards (see Fig. F) and then pull the switch in (see Fig. F-2). The
safety button on the switch ensures that it is not accidentally switched
on, while when you let the switch go, the angle-grinder will stop.
Maintenance
Replacing the carbon brushes (Fig. I+J)
This machine has self-interrupting carbon brushes whose purpose it to
automatically cut the power when the carbon brushes have reached a
certain degree of wear. If this occurs, replace the two worn-out carbon
brushes as follows:
1. Pull out the plug.
2. Loosen the two screws (Fig. I-1) completely.
3. Remove the carbon brush covers at the back on both sides of the
apparatus (Fig. I-2).
4. With the help of a screwdriver, lift the spring (Fig. J-1) and remove
the brush from the brush-holder.
5. Check the length of the brushes. Replace both brushes when they
are less than 10 mm in length.
6. When replacing the carbon brushes, pull the conductors (Fig. J-2)
from their position, lift up the carbon brush via the spring, remove
it and replace it with the new carbon brush facing in the opposite
direction
7. After checking or replacing the carbon brushes, replace the carbon
brush covers (Fig. I-2) and ensure that you do not damage the
conductors (Fig. J-3).
8. Screw in the 2 screws (Fig. I-1) firmly. Before using the machine
again, let it run unhindered for a few minutes so that the carbon
brushes can find their place.
Minimum maintenance: to have an optimally functioning apparatus, it
must be regularly and carefully maintained. Keep the ventilation openings
clean. Regularly clean the box with a soft cloth.
All other repairs and/or maintenance are done by a SPIT agent.
