2 General Safety Notification
• Disconnect the power supply before attempting
any work on the unit.
• During installation, the electric power cable to be
connected must not be live. Therefore, switch off
the power first and use a voltage tester to make
sure the wiring is off-circuit.
• Installing the sensor-switched light involves work
on the mains supply voltage.
This work must therefore be carried out pro-
fessionally in accordance with national wiring
regulations and electrical operating conditions.

3 RS PRO LED Q1
The sensor-switched indoor light is an efficient light
that controls itself. A high-frequency sensor for
detecting persons, a light sensor for identifying the
room's lighting situation as well as LEDs requiring no
maintenance provide efficient, instantaneous light.
Several lights in one room can be networked into a
group via the 868MHz wireless communication unit
(channel selection). Wireless communication to the
next light functions reliably over a distance of 50 m.
All lights then operate with equal rights and act as
one overall light.
Optionally, all function settings can be made via the
RC10 remote control ( "8 Accessories")
!
The sensor-switched light is an active motion
detector. The integrated HF sensor emits high-
frequency electromagnetic waves (5.8GHz) and
receives their echo. The change in echo caused by
the slightest movement within the detection zone of
the light is detected by the sensor. A microproces-
sor then issues the switch command "switch light
ON". Detection is possible through doors, panes of
glass or thin walls.
Detection zones:
1) Minimum reach (Ø 1 m)
2) Maximum reach (Ø 8 m)
Note:
The high-frequency power of the HF sensor is
approximately 1mW – 1000 times less than the
transmission power of a mobile phone or micro-
wave oven.

4 Installation
• Switch OFF power supply (Fig 41)
Connect the mains power supply lead (Fig 42)
The mains power supply lead is a 3-core cable:
L = phase conductor
(usually black, brown or grey)
N = neutral conductor (usually blue)
PE = protective-earth conductor (green/yellow)
If you are in any doubt, identify the conductors using
a voltage tester; then disconnect from the power
supply again. Connect phase (L) and neutral con-
ductor (N) to the terminal block.
Important:
Incorrectly wired connections will produce a short
circuit later on in the product or your fuse box. In
this case, you must identify the individual conduc-
tors once again and re-connect them. A mains
power switch for turning the unit ON and OFF may
of course be installed in the mains supply lead.
5 Mounting
• Check all components for damage.
• Do not use the product if it is damaged
Mounting procedure
• Select appropriate mounting location, taking the
reach and motion detection into consideration
• Switch OFF power supply (Fig 41)
• Mark drill holes (Fig 52)
Drill holes and insert screw anchors (Fig 53)
Directly via the connection socket (Fig 53)

• Connect conductors (Fig 42)
• Switch ON power supply (Fig 55)
• Make potentiometer settings (Fig. 56)

6 Function
After the ceiling mount has been installed and the
mains connection has been made, the sen-
sor-switched light is ready for use. When putting
the light into operation manually at the light switch,
it will switch OFF after 10seconds for the calibra-
tion phase and is then activated for sensor mode.
It is not necessary to operate the light switch a
second time.
Potentiometer function (Fig 56)
Reach setting (sensitivity) (E)
Factory setting: 8m
Reach is the term used to describe the diameter of
the more or less circular detection zone produced
on the ground after mounting the sensor-switched
light at a height of 2.5m.
Potentiometer set to maximum = max. reach
(approx. Ø 8 m)
Potentiometer set to minimum = min. reach
(approx. Ø1m)
Potentiometersetto"•"= sensor OFF
Motion detection and all other sensor functions are
completely deactivated. In this setting, the light can
be used as a normal light and turned ON and OFF
at the light switch (DIP 1-5 = OFF).
Limiting reach
By fitting the shrouds supplied with the light, the
reaches can be reduced in four directions
(Fig 61 to 64).
Time setting (stay-ON time) (D)
Factory setting: 5 seconds
The light's ON time can be set to any period from
approx. 5seconds to a maximum of 15minutes.
Any movement detected before this time elapses
will restart the timer.
Note: After the light switches OFF, motion detection
is interrupted for approximately 1second. The light
will only switch ON in response to movement once
this period has elapsed.
Twilight setting (response threshold) (C)
Factory setting: 2000 lux
The light's chosen response threshold can be infinite-
ly varied from approximately 2 to 2000 lux.
Control dial set to = daylight operating mode
(depending on ambient light level)
Control dial set to = night-time operation
(approx. 2lux)
