When using electrical appliances there are basic safety instructions to be observed. To avoid the danger of burns,
electric shocks, fires and/or personal injury please carefully read through the operating instructions before putting the
appliance to use and observe all the instructions when using the appliance.
Keep these operating instructions safe for your further use.
If you pass the appliance on to a third party, please pass on these instructions as well.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
• Only connect the appliance to a socket, which has been installed according to regulation standards. Do not use a
table connector strip or an extension lead.
• The stated voltage on the nameplate of the appliance must correspond with the voltage of your mains supply.
• Take care when setting up the cable that no one can trip over it when the appliance is in use.
• Keep the cable away from hot surfaces, naked flames and sharp edges.
• Never touch the appliance, the cable and the plug with moist or wet hands.
• Never immerse the appliance, the cable or the plug in water or other liquids. An electric shock could put your life in
danger.
• When you pull on the plug, always pull on the plug head and never the cable
• Never use the appliance in the open-air.
• Be aware of the minimum and maximum markings on the inside of the kettle. The appliance becomes too hot when
there is too little water. The boiling water can spurt out when there is too much water.
• The appliance may not be used when empty. Take care that the appliance does not overheat.
• Do not leave the appliance unattended when it is in use.
• The appliance and the lid become very hot during use. Only touch the appliance with the handles. Danger of being
burned!
• During the boiling and pouring out process make sure that the lid is always firmly shut. Danger of being burned!
• Take care that the spout of the appliance is not pointed at people or objects since hot steam can escape from the
spout during the boiling process.
• CAUTION! To interrupt or stop the boiling process, you must pull the plug from the socket. The appliance does not
switch off automatically.
• Always pull the plug out of the socket before cleaning and let the appliance cool down completely.
• Children do not realise the dangers which can arise from dealing with electrical appliances. Keep children away
from the appliance. Please be particularly attentive if children are nearby when the appliance is in use.
• Keep the packaging materials like plastic bags and polystyrene parts out of the reach of children. Danger of
suffocation1
