5.3 Other phone book functions
You can access the following menu items in the phone book with the OPTIONS display button.
Add number = See Chapter 5.1.
Show details = Shows the phone number. The entry can be changed by means of EDIT.
Delete number = Deletes individual entries.
Change number = Names and phone numbers can be edited here.
Ring tone = Here you can assign one of the 5 ring tones to the selected phone book entry.
When you receive a call from this person, this special ring tone will sound
automatically. This process only works with caller display CLIP. For more
information see Chapter 10 .
Copy from SIM card = For more information see Chapter 5.4 .
Delete section = Delete the whole phone book
5.4 Copying phone numbers from a SIM card
You can transfer phone book entries from a SIM card into the phone book of your mobile unit.
Important information:
9 Before using this function, deactivate the PIN code of your SIM card. You will find information
on how to do this in the operating instructions for your GSM mobile.
9 It is possible that switching off the PIN code may be controlled by your GSM provider. Please
check.
9 Do not try to load phone numbers from a special 1.8C SIM card.
9 Do not touch the contact surfaces of the SIM card.
9 Handle the SIM card with care.
9 A maximum of 200 entries can be stored in the phone book. If 120 entries already exist, it will
only be possible to transfer a further 80 entries from the SIM card.
9 Your mobile unit will copy the entries from the SIM card in the order in which they were
originally stored in the SIM card.
Remove the SIM card holder from the base station.
Turn the holder over and place the SIM card with the contacts uppermost into the cardholder. The SIM
card must click into place.
Turn the holder to the original position and slide it back into the base station.
Press the NAMES display button and then the OPTIONS display button.
Select the COPY FROM SIM function with the cursor.
Confirm with OK and the entries will be transferred. The individual numbers will be shown in the display
as they are being transferred.
After transferring, you can return to the main menu by pressing and holding the BACK display button.
After this, remove the SIM card from the SIM card holder.
