6 Remote Access
Remote access enables the answering machine to be contacted from any telephone which uses tone
dialling in order to listen to messages received and execute other functions.
6.1 Access code for remote access
The answering machine is provided with a personal identification number (remote access code) so
only you can listen to incoming messages via the remote access feature. The “FERNABFRAGE
CODE” (remote access code) is a three-digit number and is located on the underside of the unit.
6.2 Free of charge pre-remote access
The toll-saving pre-remote access feature can be used to check whether messages have been
received on your answering machine from a distant telephone.
On the right-hand side of the answering machine is a sliding switch (2 6 TS). Set the sliding switch to
“TS”. On contacting your answering machine from an external telephone, the answering machine
responds as follows:
S I f your call is taken after 2 rings, there are messages on the answering machine. Continue
as described in Point 6.3.
S If there are no messages on the answering machine, your call is not ta ken after two rings.
Replace the receiver after the third ring. Since the answering machine is a ctivated after
the sixth ring, no charge will be made for the call.
6.3 Remote access options
1. Call your own phone number and wait for the answering machine to take the call.
2. While the outgoing message is being played, enter the three-digit remote access code
using the dialling keys on the phone.
3. Entry of the correct code is confirmed by two acoustic signals.
4. Press one of the key combinations below to select the respective function.
Note: Replace the receiver to end the remote access function.
If there i s a pause in excess of 10 seconds between function selections, the line is
automatically disconnected.
Play newly recorded messages
Press key sequence “1” and “#”
Play all recorded messages Press key sequence “2” and “#”
Delete current message Press key sequence “3” and “#”
Repeat playback of previous message Press key sequence “4” and “#”
Stop/End playback Press key sequence “5” and “#”
Skip current message Press key sequence “6” and “#”
Switch answering machine on or of f Press key sequence “7” and “#”
