Network:
The network main menu provides complete overview about the current network
settings.
You have a choice between a network wizard and manual settings.
Your home network may use a router that allows computers to be networked and to
share files. WAP-R8900 can playback Internet Radio through a network connection.
WAP-R8900 can also playback audio files from any of the computers in the network,
as long as they provide access by a media server software as provided on the
WAP-R8900 installation CD.
The default settings for the WAP-R8900 and the instructions below are designed to
make accessing a wireless network easy.
Tip: If you need to change the settings on your router to access it, be sure the
settings you choose are secure. Please refer your the router's user documentation
for more informations.
Wireless Lan Setting Wizard
This wizard is based on a wireless WLAN configuration with DHCP, WEP and using
the first WEP-Key.
If your network requires other WLAN safety settings please jump over to chapter
Manual network settings
Touch on ”WIZARD”. When you then touch on “WLAN”, the wireless LAN site
survey starts automatically.
Touch on the appropriate AP SSID entry for your router connection, if prompted for
confirmation press “OK”.
Next, the wizard will ask for a WEP security key. You have to input the key by the
screen keyboard, operated by the cursor buttons. Enter the security key on the WEP
Key screen (the key is the same as the key for your router). Please care for correct
key (upper or lower case letters etc.)! When the key is complete, the letter's colour
changes. Then, touch the ENTER symbol to confirm the key. Then, you will be
prompted whether the key is ASCII (common) or Passphrase type. Touch the
appropriate entry. The wizard is finished here. You will be back on settings main
screen and a display window confirms the WLAN settings are enabled.
You may also open the Security setting item of WLAN Settings to configure
more/other WLAN security settings.
In case your network is changed, you can repeat the wizard or change settings
manually under Wlan Settings and IP Settings.
