indicator.
TOGGLING AND RE SETTING THE TEM PERATURE M IN/MAX DATA
TO VIEW THE MIN /MAX TEMP ERATURE D ATA
Press the MIN/MAX key several times to view the MIN/MAX i ndoor and outdoor temperature
sequentially.
Note: the outdoor MIN/MAX temperat ure records will also display the recorded time and date.
TO RESET TEM PERATURE MIN/M AX DAT A
Press and hold MIN/MAX key for 3 seco nds to reset al l the indoor and outdoor temp erature
to current temperatures.
ABOUT THE THERM O-HYGR O TRANSM ITTER
The range of the thermo-hygro tra nsmitter may be affected by the temperature. At col d
temperatures the transmitti ng distance may be decreased. Please bear this i n mind when
positioning the transmitters. Al so the batteri es may be reduced in power for the ther mo-hygro
transmitter.
CHECKING FOR 868MHz RECEP TION
If the outdoor temperature a nd humidity data are not being received within three mi nutes after
setting up (or outdoor displ ay always shows “- -.-” i n the outdoor section of the weat her
station during normal operati on), please check t he following points:
1. The distance of the weather stati on or transmi tters should be at least 2 meters away
from any interfering sources s uch as computer mo nitors or TV sets.
2. Avoid placing the transmitters o nto or in the i mmediate proximi ty of metal window
frames.
3. Using other electrical products such as headp hones or speakers operating on the
868MHz-signal frequency may preve nt correct si gnal transmission or recepti on.
Neighbors using electri cal devices operating on t he 868MHz-signal frequency can al so
cause interference.
Note:
When the 868MHz signal i s received correctl y, do not re-open the battery cover of ei ther the
transmitter or weather station, as t he batteri es may spring free from the contacts and force a
false reset. Should this happe n accidentally then reset al l units (see “Setting up ” above)
otherwise transmission problems may oc cur.
The transmission range is aro und 100 meters from t he thermo-hygro transmitter to t he
weather station (in open space). Howe ver, this depe nds on the surrounding enviro nment and
interference levels. If no recepti on is possibl e despite the observation of these factor s, all
system units have to be reset (see “Setti ng up ” above).
POSITIONING THE WEATHER STATION
The weather station provides t he option of tabl e standing or wall mounting
the unit. Before wall mounting, please check that t he outdoor data can be
received from the desired l ocations.
To wall mount:
1. Fix a screw (not suppli ed) into the desired wall , leaving the head
extended out by about 5mm.
2. Place the weather station onto t he screw, using t he hanging hole on
the backside. Gently pull the weather station dow n to lock the screw
into place.
Foldout table stand:
The foldout table stand leg i s located on the backsi de. Pull the stand out
from the bottom center edge of t he weather stati on, below the battery
compartment. Once the foldo ut table stand i s extended, place the
weather station in an appropri ate locati on.
POSITIONING THE THERMO-H YGRO TR ANSMITTER
Mounting at a sheltered pl ace. Avoid di rect rain and sunshine.
The thermo-hygro transmitter ca n be placed o nto any flat surface or wall mount
using the bracket which doubl es as a stand or wal l mount base.
To wall mount:
1. Secure the bracket onto a desi red wall using the screws a nd plastic anchors.
2. Clip the transmitter onto the bracket.
Note:
Before permanently fi xing the thermo-hygro to t he wall base, pace all units i n the
desired locations to check that t he outdoor temperat ure and humidity readi ngs are
receivable. In event that the si gnal is not recei ved, relocate the thermo-hygro
transmitter or the weather stati on slightly as this may help the signal reception.
CARE AND M AINTENANCE
•
Extreme temperatures, vibrati on and shock should be avoi ded as these may cause
damage to the unit and give i naccurate forecasts a nd readings.
•
When cleaning the displ ay and casings, use a soft damp cl oth only. Do not use
solvents or scouring agents as t hey may mark t he LCD and casings.
•
Do not submerge the unit i n water.
•
Immediately remove all low powered batteri es to avoid leakage and damage. Repl ace
only with new batteries of the recomme nded type.
•
Do not make any repair attempts to t he uni t. Return them to their original poi nt of
purchase for repair by a qual ified engineer. Ope ning and tampering with the unit may
invalidate their guarantee.
•
Do not expose the units to e xtreme and sudde n temperature changes, this may l ead to
rapid changes in forecasts a nd readings and thereby red uce their accuracy.
