If you can't close the lid, check that:
If the X'press Cooker has been
heated without any liquid inside:
If the pressure indicator has not
risen, and there is no steam coming
out of the steam outlet during
cooking:
If the pressure indicator has risen,
and there is no steam coming out of
the steam outlet during cooking:
If steam leaks out around the lid,
check:
If you cannot open the lid:
If food is under-cooked or burnt,
check:
If food has been burnt in the X'press
Cooker:
If one of the safety devices is
activated:
■ The pressure selector is set to .
■ The gasket is properly in place.
■ Get the X'press Cooker checked in a SEB/TEFAL
Approved After Sales Service Centre (see list on guarantee).
■ This is usual for the first few minutes.
■ If the phenomenon persists, check that:
The heat setting is high enough. If not, turn it up.The
quantity of liquid in the pan is sufficient.
The pressure selector is set to 1 or 2, see page 42.
The X'press Cooker is properly closed.
The gasket and rim of the pan are not damaged.
■ Let the steam escape by setting the pressure selector
to .
■ Clean the steam outlet and pressure valve.
■ That lid is properly closed. If necessary, tighten it.
■ That the gasket is properly in place.
■ That the gasket is in good condition. If not, change it.
■ That the rim of the pan is not damaged.
■ That the control panel is properly fixed.
■ Check that:
The pressure selector is set to .
The pressure indicator is at its lowest position.
■ If not: put the X'press Cooker under the cold tap to reduce
the pressure.
■ Cooking times.
■ That the heat setting is correct.
■ Correct setting of pressure selector.
■ Quantity of liquid.
■ Soak the pan for a little while before cleaning it.
■ Never use bleach or chlorine products.
■ Turn off the heat.
■ Let the X'press Cooker cool down.
■ Open the X'press Cooker and check that the control panel
is properly fixed in position.
■ Check and clean the pressure and safety devices and the
gasket.
