Impor t ant: please read through the se op erating ins tructions
very carefu lly . It is ess ential that you t ake note of all of the
safety information and operating instructions before sw itch-
ing on the device. Please keep these operating instructions in a
safe place for future refe rence.
Pleas e r ead the op erating instruct ions: Y ou should also follow
all instructions for st ar t -up and ongoing use.
Information on cleaning: Ple ase do not at tempt t o clean the
device using household chemicals, as these could damage the
sur face. Simply use a dr y cloth. Disconnect the device from the
mains before cleaning.
Caution – moisture and sunlight . Never operate the devices
in damp rooms, i.e. close to b aths, showers, wash b asins, drains,
damp cellars or swimming pools; never use them where ther e
is moisture. Nev er expose the speakers to high air humidity
and avoid direct sunlight. D o not exp ose device to dripping or
splashing water . Do not place object s lled with liquids, such as
vases on the device.
Information on location. Do not use the dev ice unse cured in
vehicles, in unstable places, on w obbly trip ods or furniture or
suppor t s that are too small. The speakers could fall and cause
damage to people, including yourself. Spe akers, par ticularly if
posit ioned on st ands or on the T V / monitor , may fall and cause
damage due t o their weight , even if they have been p ositione d
securely and stably , a s a r esult of e xternal inuences (pu lling on
the cable, tr ipp ing over the cable, unintentional phy sical con-
tact) . T his also applies to wall suppor t s that have been at tached
inappropriately or incor rectly t o w alls that may not be capable
of supp or ting their weight . Only use suitable wall brack ets for
mounting. Make sure that you know how much weight the walls
can b ear . The device must not be placed near sources of he at .
This includes radiators and heaters, ovens and other appliances
that emit heat (e.g. amplie rs) . Sources of heat , such as fan
heaters or candles, should not be placed on the speakers.
For vent ilation: Any s lits and openings in the casing have been
provided for ventilation. Their purpose is t o guarantee reliable
operation and t o prevent the device from overheating. These
openings must not b e blocked or covered, including by placing
the device on a b ed, sofa, carpet or other soft sur face. D o not
place any newsp apers or t able cloths , etc. on the device. The
cooling plate of the amplier electronics must not be cover ed
or exposed to direct sunlight . Additional active co oling of the
device is generally not permit ted.
Elec tr ical supply: The subwoofer must only b e supplied from a
power source with the correct voltage as spe cied on the iden-
tication label. If you are unsure about the electr icity supply
in your home, please cont act us or your electr icity supplier for
more information. T he de vice must be gr ounded. Please only use
the appropriat e pow er cable for connecting to the power sock -
et . Do not modify the power cable under an y cir cumstance s! Y ou
must comply with regulations regarding polarity and grounding.
The power socket of the device will only accept a 3 -pin power
plug. Make sure the power swit ch is in the “ o ff” pos ition b efore
connecting or disconnect ing the device.
Information on w ir ing. Please place the supply cable at and
ush to the wall and oor . Cables that are laid loosely r epre-
sent a r isk of tr ipping. This cou ld also result in inter ference
and cause the sound to be disrupted. The electr icity supply
cable should be laid so that it is not lik ely to b e st epped on or
squashed from the sides or above by heavy objects. Damaged
cables must be replaced. Pay par ticular at tention to the cable/
plug connection, the mains socket and the cable output from
the subwo ofer . The power supply cable and the cables that con-
nect the spe akers should b e checked regularly for insulation
faults or breaks. If a fault is discovered, the device and the ca-
bling must be disconnect ed from the mains imme diately and
the defective cable must be replaced.
Dur ing per io ds w ithout use. Remove the subwoofer ’ s power
supply cable fr om the socket for longer p erio ds of absence or
non-use.
Dur ing thunders torms. In order to avoid damage caused by
lightning strikes, the device should b e switched off and also
detache d from the mains socket as soon as a thunderstorm is
expecte d.
Risk of overload. Y ou should not overload wall so ckets, exten-
sion cables or inte grated appliance s ockets, because this could
potentially le ad to shor t circuits and even res. Y ou should also
avoid turning up the volume very high on the r elevant amplier ,
espe cially if you have increased the bass using the bass contr ol,
the loudness but ton or one of the deep bass b oost sw itches .
Foreign bodies and liquids. Foreign bodies and liquids may not
penetrate the device thr ough its openings under an y circum-
st ances, as they could come into cont act with par ts carr ying
high volt ages , which could then cause shor t circuits and res.
Therefor e, do not spill any liquids of an y kind on the device.
T r oubleshooting: Do not at tempt to repair the device yourself.
Cont act our service depar tment rst for author isation if you
think that you can repair the fault yourself. O therw ise the de-
vice must be s ent to our ser vice depar tment.
T r anspor t . The device should be transpor ted us ing a hand
truck. Great care must be taken dur ing transpor t. Ple ase note
that unev en sur faces, sudden stopping or inappr opriat e ex er -
tion of force ma y cause the hand truck and the load to fall over .
Unusual sounds. If any unusual sounds occur dur ing use or the
sound become s distor t ed, the speaker output must be reduced
immediately so that the system plays an undistor te d sound.
Connec ting and changing the fuse: Disconnect the mains plug.
A faulty fuse should on ly be replaced with one of the same type.
Information on volume. Loud noises can damage hear ing. Sud-
den high pressure may be creat ed, par ticularly if a subw oofer
in “Standby/ Aut o On” mo de is sw itched on by a bass impulse at
full volume. In addition to physical damage, ple ase be aware of
possible p sychological consequences. Childre n and pet s require
par t icular car e. If necess ary , set the v olume contr ol of your sig-
nal source device t o the lo west level. At high v olumes, always
keep a cer t ain distance from the device and never place your
ears r ight next to the sp eaker .
Please read the following
safety information carefully.
Risk of suffocation – keep
packaging materials
(e.g. the plastic lm) out of the
reach and sight of children.
Risk of electrocution – do not
leave children unsupervised with
electrical devices!
In case o f emergency
If any of the fo llowing occur ,
disconnect the device from the
mains and consult our techni-
cians:
4 If the plug or cable are da-
maged
4 If fo reign b odie s or liquid
have penetrated the device
4 If the de vice has been in
direct cont act with rain or
other water
4 If the dev ice does not pla y ,
even though you have follo-
wed the instructions for use
4 If the device has been drop-
ped or damage d in some
other way
We cannot accept any responsi-
bility for incidences that occur
because of non-obser vance o f
the safety information.
