11. PLACING THE UNIT (first read “General instructions”)
Please note: Before placing the unit, we recommend you first read Chapter 7
“Concentric flue system” on page 11.
11.1 Connection to the gas pipes
You can determine where the gas pipes will be placed, dependent on the layout. Ensure control equipment is not
twisted during installation and there is no excessive tension. Accessibility of various connection points in relation
to components need to be maintained. After installation, check the connections for tightness in relation to gas.
Use a 1/2“ gas tap with connection. Ensure the gas pipes are dirt-free and sand-free, and gas and
combustion products from various parts and functioning is correct. The gas connection should only be
undertaken when the electricity supply is disconnected. This prevents any damage occurring to the gas control
equipment.
11.2 Preparation and installation of the unit (see also pages 37 and 38)
Remove the packaging and check the unit for possible damage.
Take the 2 lifting frames (A) out of the packaging and use them to place the unit at its intended location
Please note: place the unit on a stable surface.
Do not place the unit on its back or on its side!
The front window should now be removed in order to take the additional parts out of the unit. The side
window (s) can remain in place.
Remove the lower cover profile from the unit, see fig. B.
Loosen the screws of the lower and upper quadrants, see fig. C and D.
Next, take the packaged components out of the unit and check to make sure they are not damaged or
broken.
Situate the unit (see page 33 as an example of an installation location) in your chosen installation location
using the lifting frame (A). At the rear and the sides, the unit must have at least 25 mm clearance from
fireproof built-in materials. Install the convection set and position the supplied convection grilles at least 50
cm below the ceiling (see page 33-C) on the appropriate wall. A lowered ceiling inside the whole structure
could be a possible solution in the event of a situation with a visual obstruction.
Please note: In an installation location with masonry, a mantle iron (A) will have to be installed.
See also the detail on page 33 figures 1A and 2A for the installation of the mantle iron. The standard
mantle iron can be used for both the corner and panorama situations. The mantle iron can be
mounted against the wall, taking into account the position of the recess in the ceiling, if applicable.
The legs (page 38, figure P) of the unit can be adjusted, and if necessary shortened, see also dimensional
drawings. The adjustable feet allow fine adjustments (levelling) to be made.
Gas pipe, thermocouple and ignition cables have been placed in coils under the unit (see page 38 fig O).
Cut the binders and CAREFULLY unroll the various lines and cables to the position where the gas control
cassette is to be placed.
Fixing to the wall is effected by means of adjustable wall brackets (see figure N page 38) on top of the unit.
Fastening materials are not included.
Now determine the installation and assembly of the CC ducts and accessories. Please refer to Chapter 7.
Take hold of the front window by its sides and move it CAREFULLY upwards, then CAREFULLY
and slowly pull the bottom of the window towards you. Next, lower the window and leave it in a safe
place where it cannot be broken or damaged. On corner models, first slide the window slightly towards
the open side (i.e. where the side glass is located) and then remove it.
Please note: the window is very fragile.
You should therefore be very careful when (re)installing the window!
Please note:
The distance between the gas cassette / control cabinet and the unit will be determined by the ca-
ble / thermocouple / line lengths from the control cabinet to the pilot burner and main burner.
The max. distance is approximately 1000 mm. (see also page 29-30). The pipes, cables and/or cou-
plings etc. should only be connected when the electricity supply is off.
