STEAMING FOOD
1. To steam foods such as broccoli, add water to the inner pan. Make sure you add enough water to prevent the inner pan
from drying out during cooking.
2. Put the food you wish to steam in the steaming basket. Do not overll the steaming basket. Doing so can extend the
required cooking me or prevent the food from cooking properly.
Smaller foodstus can be placed in a heat-resistant container and then placed in the steaming basket.
Larger foodstus should be cut into smaller pieces if possible.
3. Check that the outside of the inner pan is dry before placing it in the rice cooker. Ensure that the inner pan is properly in
contact with the heang element.
4. Place the lid on the pan.
5. Press down the start buon at the front under the indicator lights. The COOK indicator light switches on. To prevent
steam being lost – which results in a longer cooking me – we advise that you do not open the lid while the rice is cooking
unless necessary.
6. When the food has been steamed for the required length of me, the rice cooker will not automacally switch to heat
mode if there is sll water in the inner pan. Remove the lid from the pan in order to check whether the food is ready.
Cauon: This may release hot steam.
7. The rice cooker will connue to steam unl the plug is removed from the socket or unl the on/o switch is pushed
upwards.
8. Switch o the rice cooker by removing the plug from the socket or by switching o the ON/OFF buon at the rear of
the appliance.
1. Measure the desired amount of rice. (1 measuring cup per person)
2. Rinse the rice unl the rinsing water becomes reasonably clear and briey drain the rice.
Cauon: Do not rinse the rice in the inner pan. The hard rice grains could damage the non-sck layer on the inside of the pan.
3. Place the rinsed rice in the inner pan.
4. Add the required quanty of water using the measuring cup. For one cup of white rice, one measuring cup of water must
be added. The quanty markers in the inner pan are purely indicave and apply only to white rice. The quanty markers
indicate how much water should be added to the inner pan depending on how many measuring cups of rice have been
added. For soer rice, we
recommend soaking the rice for 10-20 minutes before cooking it.
5. Check that the outside of the inner pan is properly dry and clean before placing it in the rice cooker. Ensure that the inner
pan makes proper contact with the heang element. There should be no food residues or other hard parcles between the
inner pan and the heang element.
6. Place the lid on the pan.
7. Insert the mains cord in the connecon of the rice cooker. Insert the plug in the socket and switch
the ON/OFF buon at the rear of the appliance to ON.
8. Press down the start buon at the front under the indicator lights. The COOK indicator light
switches on. To prevent steam being lost – which results in a longer cooking me – we advise that
you do not open the lid while the rice is cooking unless necessary.
9. Once the rice is ready, the rice cooker will automacally switch to warm mode. The COOK indicator
light goes out and the WARM indicator light remains on. Leave the rice for at least 10 minutes
before opening the lid. The exact amount of me depends on the amount of rice cooked. The rice
cooker keeps the rice warm unl you pull the plug out of the socket. Do not leave the rice on warm mode for longer than 12
hours.
10. Press the start buon upwards and li the lid o the rice cooker. Cauon: this may release hot steam. Use oven gloves
if you wish to take the inner pan out of the rice cooker, as it may be hot.
11. Remove the rice from the inner pan with the provided spoon, to prevent damaging the non-sck layer.
12. Switch o the rice cooker by removing the plug from the socket or by switching o the ON/OFF buon at the rear of the
appliance.
Aenon: It is important that the outside of the inner pan is completely clean and dry before it is placed in the rice cooker.
The heang element can be damaged if water, food remnants or other dirt come into contact with it. Never use the inner pan
for any other purposes than preparing rice in the rice cooker, for instance as a separate pan for cooking. The boom will warp,
making the inner pan unusable.
