The T om y Baby Monitor is designed to help you monitor y our child and is not a substitute for adult supervision.
This product is not a to y . Always keep electrically operated items and their cables out of r each of babies and younger
children. Under no cir cumstances should you place an y part of your monitor in or on a cot.
Ensure all wiring is positioned safely so that childr en cannot become entangled and that no trip hazard is cr eated.
Under no circumstances should the adaptors supplied with this monitor be used with an y other equipment. No
other adaptors than those supplied should be used with your monitor . Be careful not to position the adaptor wher e
a child is likely to use it as a step. Putting weight on the adaptor while it is plugged in could damage the unit or
cause injury to your child. It is normal for char gers to become hot during use – take care when handling, allo w
heat to disperse . DO NO T COVER. Disconnect charger if the pr oduct will not be used for sever al days. T o prevent a
shock hazard, please disconnect fr om pow er supply before cleaning. The rechar geable battery within the Par ent Unit
should be recy cled. Do not dispose in normal waste . Do not attempt to dismantle any part of this pr oduct.
• BA TTERY SAFETY
Remo val and r eplacement of batteries should be carried out by an adult or under adult supervision. T ake special
care to ensur e batteries are inserted corr ectly , observing (+) and (-) polarity marks on battery and product. Do not
short circuit the contacts in the battery compartment or the battery terminals. R emov e exhausted batteries from
product. Do not mix old (used) and new batteries or batteries of differ ent types, e .g. rechargeable and alkaline or
batteries of different makes/br ands. Dispose of exhausted batteries safely , and never dispose of batteries in a re .
Remo ve batteries fr om product after use or if storing for long periods. Only use batteries of the same or equivalent
type to those recommended.
Remo val and r echarging of rechar geable batteries should be carried out by an adult or under adult supervision.
If you ar e using rechar geable batteries within the Baby Unit, they must be remo ved fr om the monitor before
rechar ging. Do not attempt to rechar ge non-rechargeable batteries.

Q. Does my P arent Unit need to be switched on or off whilst char ging?
A. Either , your Par ent Unit will charge whilst switched on or off, ho wever char ging the unit whilst switched on will
allow y ou to monitor your bab y whilst charging.
Q. I have measur ed the temperatur e of my baby’s r oom using another device and I get a different r eading
than that of my monitor- wh y?
A. The temperatur e measuring device within your T omy monitor is designed to give y ou an indication of the baby’s room
temperatur e to within a small tolerance of + 1°C or - 1°C. Other devices will also hav e a similar tolerance .
Q. Can I use my monitor abr oad?
A. Y ou can use y our monitor in the country it was purchased and an ywhere in the EU. Although y our monitor may
function correctly in other countries, its oper ating frequency may affect (or be affected b y) other devices and could
be illegal. T om y cannot accept any liability for use outside of the country in which you pur chased your monitor or
the EU.
Help the environment b y disposing of your pr oduct and packaging responsibly . The wheelie
bin symbols indicate the product and batteries must not be disposed of in the domestic w aste
as they contain substances which can be damaging to the environment and health. Please
use designated collection points or recy cling facilities when disposing of the item or batteries.
PROBLEM
My Par ent Unit will not
switch ON.

POSSIBLE CAUSE
The rechar geable battery (supplied)
has not been installed correctly .

conserve battery life .
As with any r echargeable battery
it has a nite life and may need
replacing.
It is not possible to activate the
Multicoloured Nightlight featur e from
the Par ent Unit.
SOLUTION
Insert the battery as instructed within this booklet or the
Quick Start Guide . Once installed place the Parent Unit on
charge and leav e for several minutes befor e switching ON.
Place the Par ent Unit on charge and leave for sev eral
minutes before switching ON.
Check the pow er cable connections
(including wall socket).
Check the pow er cable connections
(including wall socket).
Check the batteries have adequate char ge and are
correctly installed.
Switch the Nightlight OFF by pr essing the
button
then reactiv ate the Baby Unit’s main function by
pressing and holding the button.
Ensure both units ar e adequately power ed.
Bring both units closer together and repeat the
‘Set-Up’ instructions.
Replace batteries.
Or switch to mains (AC) using the adaptor supplied.
Rechar ge batteries.
Increase P arent Unit volume or place into the
Docking Station to activate High Denition Sound.
Mov e units closer .
Refer to Sound A ctivated Monitoring within this
instruction booklet.
Ensure both units ar e adequately power ed and then
follow the ‘Set-Up’ guide within this booklet.
Identify the low battery condition and either
rechar ge/replace batteries or switch to mains pow er .
Mov e units apart.
Decrease v olume.
